Subject description: Slowly...getting...this...machine...operational...gasp!
Here's another small progress video. Testing out led gating on some of the outputs by coiling some copper wire on the ends of my leds. They connect to the bolts super easy and add a little light show to my lunetta.
Do you have a xor in there? It's really great for smashing those squarewaves and creating some unusual sounds. _________________ There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

HA HA!!! GREAT VIDEO AGAIN!!! That's a lovely tune too! I reckon it would EVEN stop a baby crying! TRY IT! Next time CMOS wakes up in the middle of the night and is screaming for ages.... take him into your Lunetta den and see if it works. Bet you it does! More research needed with Lunetta and baby interactions. Hmmm... but where to get funding?
Those LEDs are vital I think... Without them you really are prodding around in the dark. Nice to see what pin is doing what when all the noise is happening at once!

Why yes I do have an XOR in there somewhere . So many patches to try and not enough time or alligator clips . Next time I get into the utility room (I mean mad scientist's lab), I'll try out my XORS.
I'm enjoying the patchable leds too. Time to raid the Christmas lights box in the garage! _________________ Zontar Prevails!

Thanks for the feedback guys! Just received my big shipment of alligator leads so I'll be able to patch/layer more panels together. It seems like I'm always short of em'; mostly due to my 5 year old son 'experimenting' with them.
My lunetta is hardly as fancy as some I've seen here; but for my first try, I couldn't be more pleased. There always seems to be new discoveries during sessions. Hopefully I'll get a spare moment to add more varied samples soon. _________________ Zontar Prevails!
It's those panels which do it for me! By far the nicest alligator clip build I have seen! Look forward to further updates. Like father, like son ...as they say

Thanks guys. 'Space Crickets' is now the working title of that piece.
If memory serves me correctly: The patching involves 3 40106 oscillators. 1 going into my 4040, another to a 4025 Triple Input NOR, and another going into my 4093 NAND. Various outs from the 4040 connect to the ins of the 4093 and 4025, then to my r/2r and then the YAVCO, then my mixer. There’s a couple of leds added to the outs, which adds another layer of gating. I didn't have any alligator clips left so I called it done.
And yes, I’d prefer my lil' one twisting oscillators than the crappy electronics they put in every baby device. I’m already having a hard time keeping my 5 year old boy from “adjusting” my well planned out settings!

And the machine shrinks a bit!
Here's yet another repackaging of the same thing, but I'm someone who really believes in iteration.
The box is made out of spare wood and MDF. It's hollow, so all the power wiring is on the inside. The digital stuff runs at regulated 5v, and the mixer runs on +/- 9v from two 9v batteries. Still working out some bugs but here it is:

Looking good ! I'm debating if a rehousing is inevitable my my lunetta as well. But that's the nature of the artist, right?
I have a half finished Baby 10 that has been gathering dust since I got the lunetta bug, so I'm looking forward to a progress report on your sequencer ideas. _________________ Zontar Prevails!
Looking good Droff! It's funny how you are making yours smaller... when Rykhaart is making his bigger!! If you multiply yours by 10 or 12, you get an idea of what kind of monster Rich is going to build! There's only SO many CMOS IC's around, unless he has access to some mystery hard to get chips... like a 4011.5 NAND and a bit gate
HAHA! I forgot about them! Saw them on [cough cough ] The Deathlehem Machine forum... but because there were lots of posts that day, I forgot about it.
It looks like something dangerous! You wouldn't want the SWAT team finding that! Don't try getting on a plane with it either!

Bruce, I love the way you manage to bring order in the chaos, something I really fail at . _________________ There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Great piece RF! It reminds me of my favorite 80's video game arcade, Friar Tucks. Except that it sprouted huge legs, tiny arms and a long reptilian tail and started terrorizing the strip malls in my neighborhood!
I've been laying low due to my duties as a proud father, but I am very....
1o minutes later...sorry, had to feed baby. Anyways, inspiring to say the least! _________________ Zontar Prevails!
