Keyboard interfaces to MPU . . . similar to KV64 ?

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for an interface board for a 4 octave polyphonic keyboard with velocity sensing (changeover contacts).
Don't need MIDI, but what I do need is a fast interface with 8 or 16 bit parallel output, for connection to MPU board.
Trying to keep latency to a minimum.
The KV64 chip looks to have the sort of funtionality I'm seeking, but are there any alternatives ?
Or a board using the KV64 ?
A pcb full of 74HC chips would be ok, but it must be ready-built as I'm short of time at present.
Help appreciated . .
