g2x midi problems ...you know why? Subject description: using g2x thru a roland ax7 |
 |
|
Hello my name is George and I am from Greece...
Last week I try to play my modular thru my ax7.
I try to connect it but after two - three program changes the modular freezes!
No respond at all! Even from the modular it self. The lights stop flashing, no sound from the instrument.
I restarted and I tried again. But nothing changed. Again after 3 program changes the modular wants restart.
I try to do the same with my triton extreme and everything works properly.
The modular is running the latest os version. And I want to control the performance function.
Can someone help me or there is any idea what the problem is?
I have my cd presentation next week and I need to play the patches from the ax7....
Thank you |

Hi ahas,
it is possible to overload the G2 with MIDI, but you'd really need to send it a lot of MIDI data ... could it be that you have a MIDI loop? _________________ Jan
also .. could someone please turn down the thermostat a bit.

By AX7, I assume you mean the Roland keyboard that you wear over your shoulder?
Does the G2X work properly when you send it MIDI from a computer? If not, there may be something wrong with the G2X; but if it works properly, it is possible that the problem is that the AX7 is sending it something that it does not expect.
In which case a reasonable way to find the problem may be to record what the AX7 sends to the G2X. If you have a PC, you can do so by installing a free program named MIDI-OX. Connect your your G2X and AX7 to your computer's MIDI ports and ask MIDI-OX to transfer MIDI signals between the two devices and log what happens.
It is possible that whatever is going wrong will become obvious when you look at the log. |

Hi Ahas.
Did you finally fixed that midi problems with your AX7 and g2?
Could you tell me how can you send a "change patch" signal with the AX7 to the G2?
It's enough to select the right CC00, CC32 and Prg Number (and what are them?) or you needed to doo some patching on the modular?
thank you |
