Darn, missed this one.....what an interesting circuit.

Please put me down for 2 PCBs + PICs on the next run please, (or add me to the waiting list in case anyone backs out/or extras are ordered)

Thanks

Do you plan to send invoices? Also wanted to make sure I was also down for a burned PIC along with the board.

Thanks!

Put me down for one + burned pic either for the next run, or this one if one becomes available.

HERE'S THE UPDATE:

THE ORDER HAS BEEN MADE FOR PCB MANUFACTURING FOR 20.
ALL ORDERS WILL COME WITH A BURNED PIC. I WILL START BUGGING THOSE THAT SAID THEY WANTED ONE SOMETIME NEXT WEEK. A FEW HAVE ALREADY PAID.

NO HARD FEELINGS IF YOU RANK OUT AND DECIDE NOT TO GET ONE, THE NEXT PERSON THAT POSTED WILL BE ASKED IF THEY STILL WANTED ONE OR WILL GET THAT PRIORITY.

ALL LEFT OVER PCB'S WILL BE BUILT BY ME AND SOLD OVER EBAY FOR NON DIY PERSONAL. SO LIKE I SAID NO HARD FEELINGS IF YOU TUNE IN DROP OUT.

HERES A ROUGH SKETCH OF THE PARTLIST, I HAVEN'T CONFIRMED THE RESISTOR COUNT ACCURACY YET.

TO keep track of the version for the Firmware:

This VCLFO version is based on VERSION 9D
That is what will be on the PIC.
So Sync and Wave distort is on the circuit.

The two-stage 4th order Bessel filter for PWM digital cleaning was also used.

I have My vco's (new modular) up and running so a demo will come later this evening. On my prototype the Analog LFO's are not there but I will just patch the same type of LFO's that will be on the PCB to show you the DOPE S&H possibilities!

2 questions.

I have never built a project with a crystal - if a Mouser # or otherwise could be provided that would be great.

Also, would 1N4002s be okay for the 1N400X diodes?

Thanks!

The crystal can be ordered at futurluc also.

http://www.futurlec.com/Crystals/CRYLF20M000.shtml

The pots kinda make you have to shop there anyways unless you have your own source. Mouser does not offer the kind of pot the pCB uses.

As far as delicate, there is nothing fragile or extremely heat sensitive. The crystal is just soldered on like any other part, there's no polarity either.

Yeah 1N4002 is fine. On the PCB those are the Bigger silkscreened diode.

When I build a few to sell off I am going to use this case:
That's if your going to build it as a stand alone self powered unit.

I forgot to mention that if your going to build it as a stand alone, you will need a 12v AC 300mA or greater wallwart. If you decide to power it up on 15v regulators you will need 16v AC wallwart.

http://www.web-tronics.com/la-7.html

or this case is cool, on the medical tip.

http://www.web-tronics.com/smalemsercha1.html

There pretty cheap.

I like to take two on a next run.

there was the speak that this LFO can be synced to a clock = not just restarting.
is it allready this kind of sync that is in the software ? = running in partials of clock speed

They arrived and I built one. The following errors was found on Rev1.1:
A few jumpers are needed, no trace cutting or anything crazy like that. I already fixed it. Here is what is needed to get it going:

NOTE*************************I JUST UPDATED THE FIX, I FORGOT A PICTURE. IT HAS TO DO WITH A REVERSED CAP.

I PUT TOGETHER A ZIP FILE WITH DIAGRAMS AND THIS TEXT TO TELL YOU WHERE THE JUMPERS GO. LOOK OVER IT. I WILL HAVE A VIDEO SOON OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AND DEMO.

THE FOLLOWING WAS FOUND ON REV 1.1
---------------------------------------
THERE ARE TWO SILKSCREEN ERRORS: (MINOR MISTAKE)
1) THE NEGATIVE 79XX(-) IS LABELED 78XX(-), JUST REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A NEGATIVE REGULATOR. THIS IS ONLY NEEDED/USED FOR THE SELF POWERED OPTION.
2) ON THE ANALOG LFO FOR THE RATE POT IT SAYS 1,2,3. IT SHOULD BE 3,2,1. THIS IS THE ONE ABOVE THE TL074 IC AND CLOSE TO THE LFO1, LFO2 OUTPUTS.
3) STARTING FROM THE LABEL "CODE BY TOM WHILTSHIRE", THE SECOND 2200UF CAP IS REVERSED. LOOK AT THE PICTURE TO SEE WHAT I MEAN.

THERE ARE TWO JUMPERS THAT ARE NEEDED FOR THE ANALOG LFO'S TO WORK.
-FOR EACH ANALOG LFO THE RATE POT 'POINT 3' MUST JUMPER TO DPDT SWITCH 'POINT 3' ALSO. LOOK AT THE DIAGRAM I MADE. YOU CAN EITHER DO IT OFF THE POT AND SWITCH (EASIER) OR SOLDER A JUMPER FROM THE POINT WHERE THE 2 DIODES JOIN TO THE LEG OF THE 200K RESISTOR THAT JOINS WITH THE OP-AMP OUTPUT.
ALL OF THIS IS WITHIN THE SILKSCREEN RECTANGLE SECTION OF THE ANALOG LFO.
-IF YOUR NOT GOING TO BUILD THE ANALOG LFO'S THEN DON'T WORRY ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

****FOR THE MAIN DIGITAL LFO THE FOLLOWING WAS FOUND: SOME POTS ARE NOT GOING TO 5V
-SH RATE POT 'POINT 3' (ON PCB) NEEDS TO GO TO 5V, YOU CAN JUMPER TO THE WAVEFORM POT 'POINT 3' TO PREPARE THE FIX.
-NOW DISTORT POT/OUTPUT POT/SH RATE POT/WAVEFORM POT 'POINTS 3' ARE JOINED TOGETHER BY A TRACE, THESE NEED TO GO TO 5V. YOU CAN JUMPER FROM DISTORT POT (ON PCB) TO 4K7 INSIDE THE SILKSCREEN RECTANGLE LABELD "SYNC MODE". IT IS THE ONE ON THE FAR RIGHT, NOT THE ONE RIGHT NEXT TO DISTORTION POT. THE TOP LEG OF THE 4K7 RESISTOR GOES TO 5V. THAT IS A GOOD PLACE TO TAP IN 5V.

FOR THE DIGITAL LFO TO WORK CORRECTLY THE SYNCJACK INPUT MUST BE A SWITCH JACK TYPE (SEE DIAGRAM), THE SWITCH PART MUST GO TO GROUND. SO WHEN NOT IN USE IT IS GROUNDED. IF YOUR NOT GOING TO USE THIS SYNC INPUT THEN PERMANENTLY JUMPER THE SYNC TO GROUND (LOOK ON PCB). IF YOU DON'T DO THIS THE SYMPTOM IS THAT THE LFO SPEED GOES RANDOM AND SPORADIC WHEN YOU SWEEP THE DISTORTION POT.

*************************************************************
I WILL GO DOWN THE LIST OF PEOPLE THAT RESERVED FOR THE FIRST RUN. IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO GET ONE THAT IS OKAY. ALL WILL BE SOLD ANYWAYS.

I HAVE ALOT OF 20Mhz CRYSTALS, ONE WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE PIC ALSO.

No worries on the payments, I haven't sent anything out. Some have paid and the rest i was going to hit you up today and tomorrow.

here is the trimmer adjustment steps:
DIGITAL LFO TRIMMER ADJUSTMENT:
=======================================================================
ON THE MIDDLE TRIMMER TURN IT FULLY CLOCKWISE TO GET THE FULL 100K.
NOW ON THE LVL POT SET IT TO ZERO.
NOW ON THE FIRST TRIMMER (THE ONE CLOSE TO THE TL074 IC) ADJUST UNTIL YOU READ 0.00 VOLTS. THE TRIMMER WILL POINT NEAR THE MIDDLE.

THE LAST TRIMMER IS THE FREQ RANGE, IT SHOULD BE NEAR THE MIDDLE. THIS ONE DOES NOT REQUIRE TO READ THE VOLTAGE. PATCH THE DIGITAL LFO TO A VCO, TURN UP THE LVL AND YOU CAN ADJUST THE RANGE BY EAR.

US residents that paid already your stuff shipped out today May 30. 2009. I was told you should get it no later then Friday.

International will ship Monday for those that paid already

The second run PCB will be ordered Monday also and from the time line it would arrive June 10-11.

If you have the Funds already for people who wanted in on the second run It would make it easier on me if you paid in advance to order everything at once (pic, pcb, crystals). The faster you pay the faster you get you item(s).
Just PM me for the paypal address. Mention your amount you want and that your from the 2nd Run PCB (very important).

These are the Prices: this includes Shipping, Burned Pic(s), crystal(s) per set.
US DOLLARS:

(1set) $40.00
(2set) $65.00
(4set) $120.00
