Episode 49 - more adventures with the VCS3, this time using 2 DD-20s for looping with loop lengths of 18 and 20 seconds and Wedge for reverb and delays.

This one features lots of use of the looping Envelope Shaper and Ring Modulator to get some interesting rhythms

Episode 50! Smile

This episode saw a lot of experimenting with live sampling, looping and cross-synthesis.

Episode 51 was recorded live from Chez Mosc in Allentown, Pennsylvania, featuring guest appearance from Howard Moscovitz, Bill Fox and Mel Morley

Jez played: Nord Modular, Waldorf Blofeld, Korg Monotron, Yamaha VSS-30 and ipod touch, through Repeater and delay

Howard played: Nord Modular G2 and ipad

Bill played: Guitar, effects and radio

Mel played: Softsynths, ipad and Korg Monotron

Thanks to all involved, it was great fun and even though we had some technical difficulties at the start and then lost the stream near the end, we managed to only lose about 5 minutes, covered by judicious use of long cross-fades Smile

Here's the recording of Episode 53 - Delicate Noise, a noisy ambient excursion with 'sequencey' finale courtesy of the Blofelds arpeggiator

This episode features the Nord G2 and Blofeld (played via Yamaha CBX-K1), through the usual filter, looping and delay Smile

Episode 54 - experiments in guitar tapping (which wouldn't stay in tune, perhaps because the room temp was constantly rising, perhaps because the poor thing was tuned in fifts...). The guitar was fed into kyma where I did processing and looping.

Thanks Jez.

I didn't upload episode 52... not entirely sure why, maybe it can be a special release some time. The lost episode. Maybe... :S

Episode 55 - The Black Hole, features Korg microKorg, Electrix Repeater and Boss DD-20

It is a spacey ambient excursion with experimental tendencies Smile

This episode features my first use of the microKorg's vocoder and my use of it isn't exactly melodic. I found the vocoder section quite cathartic, as this episode was recorded during a rather dark period for me.

I'm not able to perform my show live tonight, so Rob will be playing a pre-recorded show for me Smile

It was recorded 'live' on Sunday night using my newly acquired Yamaha PSS-380 which is basically a cheap '80s consumer keyboard, but it has 100 FM sounds with some editability via 5 sliders, 3 to control envelope attack, decay and release and 2 to control 'spectrum' and 'modulation'. These are stepped so smooth sweeps aren't really possible, so sounds were mostly edited in between notes, but there are some fast sweeps which sound OK for noisier stuff Smile

It was run through my Frostwave Resonator filter, into my Repeater then out to DD-20 for panning delay

I'm sorry to inform you that tonight's AIS is cancelled. A good friend of mine died today, so I won't be around. It was not a surprise but I'll probably spend some time with his family.

That's very sublime Jez.

It's amazing what you can do with a cheap sound source and some expensive effects Laughing
