Do you happen to have the MAX1044s currently? Also, what's the status of the Echo boards? I want one of each.

I don't have any 1044s right now but I can get some if you aren't able to order them. I do have Echo Base boards available again, yes.

So this will run on +/-12 without modification?

I guess it depends on what you consider to be modification. You will need to inject your negative voltage to where pin 5 of the 1044 goes, and also you'll of course need to use components which can handle the higher voltage.

I haven't ever run it on higher voltage, so I can't say if it makes much of a difference to the sound - I would expect the distortion to behave a little differently.

Ok, I've got some 1044's again if anybody needs to buy them along with the board. $3.75 each.

Someone sent me shot of something made with some of these PCBs, and some of my Echo Base boards. Thought it was really cool so I wanted to post it.

Greetings,

I'm putting in my order and I'm a bit confused on the rotary switch. Inside the build docs it says that I need a 2P6T switch but it looks like on the wiring diagram and schematics I see it being a 2P8T switch. Am I reading this wrong?

I see plenty of 2P6T rotary switches at mouser but not 8P6T switches. Thoughts?

Hey,

Actually, the doc says you can use either a 3P4T, or a DP6T (2P6T), and the image shows a 3P4T. You might be thinking that what's shown there is called 2-pole 8-throw, because there are 8 outer lugs. But the term "4-throw" (4T) means that the switch has 4 positions - the number of outer lugs is double the number of positions because this is a 2-pole switch.

I know that that might have confused you further - sorry!

You only need 2 poles and 4 throws as mentioned in the BOM. If you're unsure about how rotary switches work, I would suggest that you get a 3P4T Alpha plastic rotary and wire it exactly as shown in the document, leaving the same lugs unused as shown.

Hope that helps, let me know if it still needs further explaining.

Thanks for your reply. I was confused regarding terminology but that clears everything up. Thanks again!

One other thing worth mentioning: don't buy one of the all-metal switches like that:

http://www.mouser.com/images/alphataiwan/sm/105-SR2511F-12RN.jpg

These are connected differently and won't match up to the diagram. Make sure you get one f the plastic ones instead - any from this series are the right type - just find the right number of poles and your preferred shaft type (har har), etc.

Thanks for taking the time to upload that link. I was indeed on the way to ordering the wrong switches. I suppose I need to do a bit more reading up on rotary switches as this has all been pretty enlightening. Take care!

You can take LFO CV out from the ...I am trying to remember now how I did this...from the + pad of the optional de-tecking capacitor - 10uF marked "optional" on the PCB. I did this and it works great BUT it is not buffered so pulling CV out will reduce overall effect depth temporarily while connected.

I have not built a little buffer circuit yet to fix this.

Ok, thanks for your answer, it will help me fine ! Could your give more information about building a buffer for this cv ads ? If you got links to websites or schematics i could read, it will help me a lot to understand what it should be.. I have never built this kind of things actually.

Thanks for all !

I'm sorry, i don't have a schematic, that's why I have not done this buffer mod yet. I have not had time to research or try.

i'm pretty sure you input CV to the wiper of the depth pot and most likely speed as well.

Hi, it's me again... Sorry for asking you boring questions, but as i'm not an english speaker, sometimes it"s hard for me to find good parts.. Technical language is not always easy.

I'm still looking after the DP6t rotary switch :

finally, i found this one, could someone tell me if it's the good one ?

http://fr.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=SR2612F-0206-21R0B-D8-Nvirtualkey14860000virtualkey105-SR2612F-26-21RN

Thanks, really !
