Not in a hurry or anything, but I was just wondering if you could give us an update.

Thanks!

Whoa! I totally somehow missed that comment, emdot!!! Argh. Must have missed the comment in my email. Sorry about that.

Life got in the way of funding for a bit, there!

I have some fantastic news now, though, and that is to say that funding is fully acquired for the board run and I have put the order in!!!

Now is just a matter of waiting for the boards to be made and to get them in my hot little hands Smile...and to finish the manual (my sincerest apologies to those with homebrew boards.)

Hopefully it will not be terribly long for the boards. I am using Futurlec, as suggested by someone earlier in the thread for their nicely priced single sided/no solder mask boards (I'd go with solder mask, except then the Bentley mods wouldn't be very easy for people to do...)

Anyways, they should hopefully be here in a month! I will let everyone know soon as they are, and begin taking payments/shipping them right away when they do Smile

Sorry for the long wait, folks!!!

Oh yes, to those three that recently mentioned they would like some boards in this thread - I have taken your names down for orders! Smile

that sucks, i have a gig to play on saturday!
[/joke]

Smile well that's my homebrew board, partially prepared for the Bentley mod, there are just some minor questions... no hurry!

Well, I only made the comment yesterday Wink

I only asked because my finances finally opened up a bit and after ordering some boards for a different project I realized I hadn't checked this thread recently.

Sweet!

And good call on the no solder mask. I've always wanted to use this quote from the Jeeves & Wooster TV show:
Quote:
My father's got a Bentley.

Very Happy

Hey! No problem. Hmm, strangely my email decided to junk mail subscription notifications for this thread :/

Sorry for the late responses. The order is all placed and everything so we're just waiting on them to come now Smile

Why yes I did! I ordered maybe 3 extra. I would have ordered more extra except it was a fairly tight budget.

I also anticipate that some people will probably not actually end up paying for the ones they wanted when the time comes...either way there are a few extra if you'd like to be put down for one, or two, or a few! I have a list of people and their board orders so I will be dispatching personal messages to everyone that requested them with payment information when they are here and ready to ship!!!

As for the manual, we're just waiting on some component values and specific info from Rich, then I will be able to construct the PDF.

Hmm. ok well reading in more detail it appears i need a basic AR nd vca to get this running. Can anyone suggest a good pcb/schematic of what id need?

Ive not got quite as far as strting a modular (eurocrack!) addiction yet but can see the appeal with all the diy projects - standard packaging and powering all sorted. I might have to look into a modular system (bye bye money and life!)

For now im wondering if i can kludge all this together into a rack mount, with AR/VCA and everything i need in one box. Im also doing a few 808 clone modules so could make an uberdrumbox... The joys/pain of open ended synth diy! Laughing

Otherwise might have to invest in a starter modular case/build one.

I hope i wont be too annoying but i may well be asking a few queries with regards to this.

Thanks for putting me on the list. It sounds awesome and I also happend to have virtually all the parts lying around so would be crazy to miss out.

Cheers

Nice! Thanks for the help, Bruce Smile

To be honest with you, I would probably not be of much help, because I have not designed this circuit. I just took the project and made the board run happen because I saw a way I could help out Smile

It would be Rich that would be able to answer questions easier, and he is currently very busy with other things right now!

So, thanks once again Bruce for taking the reigns on that one Very Happy

Bruce has built the past versions and had a lot of time to mess with his, so he is a very good resource for information on the project if he doesn't mind answering your questions Smile

Not to be all paranoid or anything, but if I said I wanted a board back on page two that means I'm covered, right? There wasn't a more formal process or anything?

Yup! I just took a look on my orders spreadsheet and I've got you down for a board Smile

I must have forgotten to address that I had received your order. Sorry about that!

Well, there was a delivery slip hanging on my door when I arrived at home today! I think this is it! Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy I will be picking up the package tomorrow evening and then contacting those of you that have requested boards and request that payment be sent then.

Unfortunately, I took a pretty unanticipated hard hit on the exchange rate and customs fees when ordering. Due to this, I am raising the price by $1.00 per board to $18.00CAD per. I didn't want to do this, but it wound up being about $40 more than expected, so have to cover my costs.

I have FINALLY fixed the bill of materials, and uploaded version one of the .PDF instruction manual. Please note that the Bentley Mods version is NOT included yet in the manual, or the parts list. Rich is very busy lately and cannot attend to this project right now, so if you want to build the Bentley version either try to figure it out yourself from the board, or wait for Rich to come out of hiding Smile

I will report back tomorrow evening when I have the boards in my hot little hands! Too bad the post office won't have them ready until tomorrow, or I'd go right away! Grr...

As always i forgot to order one part when ordering my last bits so will get that sorted, nd make sure i have enough for Bruce's bits too.

Many thanks Smile

YAY! They're here! And, they look great! (see pics below)

I am going to keep a counter on the front page with how many boards are left and update it as I ship them.

All payments will be taken via PayPal. Price per board is $18.00CAD.

Please mark in the "message to recipient box" or whatever in the paypal order comments with your payment - your EM username, so I can keep track of things! Thanks Smile

I am going to come right out and say this now - I didn't order enough boards. Sad The last few might not get the boards they asked for, unless some people happen to bail out/not pay for the boards they requested.

I am deeply apologetic for this. I did not anticipate the amount of additional boards that would be requested in the time it took for them to be manufactured and delivered. Interest in the thread died down for a bit so I thought people were done requesting pre orders! Argh.

Perhaps a second small run might be in order later down the road...

I will be mailing them out in bunches, and I will make a global notification in this thread each time I get back from the post office having mailed packages out!

thumb up Awesomeness!

...but I want a Bentley! (as if I don't have too many things in my pile already and could possibly build this thing as soon as it arrives...yeah, right! And monkeys might fly out my butt!)
