disconnect all cables at once |
 |
|
is there a way to disconnect all the cables in a patch at one time? not just the unused ones... or a way to select a group of modules and just disconnect those? if not, there ought to be a way...
that's my wish... or my ignorance... depending ... |

There may be a better way, but put all the modules down that you want in your patch and then set this cordless patch to the init variation. Then, when you are working on a variation, just load the init variation and you'll have it. _________________ --Howard

There is a way to disconnect a set of selected modules from it's suroundings - if that's what you want to do.
Just cut them out and then paste them back.

I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but you can't have different wirings for the same patch in different variations due to recalculation issues. Variations only work on parameters, and only parameters that don't force a recalculation/optimisation. If you set an unwired patch the the var init, wire up a few modules and then press init, you'll find the cables stay the same unfortunately. |

oh! ok, i hadn't gotten around to trying it, yet, but it sounded like it would work.
so: a feature that disconnects all cables in a patch at one time, or even in a group of selected modules, without having to cut and paste them. |

so, yeah. i'd like the option to delete ALL cables at once or in a given selection of modules. |

Opps, you are right. I should have tried it before suggesting it. _________________ --Howard

I propose we go back to her and tell her that we didn´t apreceate her at the time. We´ll say "please OS2.1, please take us back, we never realised how good you were to us", then we´ll admit we only upgraded because we thought two vocoders in the same patch would be kinda neat but in the end never realy did use that.
Then we´ll kiss her calculator and all will be well again.
;¬)
(the G1 used to have this, and building blocks, and a calculator, version 3.0 snipped a couple of percentages of cost of the vocoder which used to cost 55% or so and also axed the building blocks and the calculator. "remove all cables" might still be there, never used it) _________________ Kassen |

I'll admit, I'm puzzled: how would this feature be useful? |

it'd be a time saver and not difficult to implement, i don't think.
for example, let's say i've got my voice area populated with modules and things are cabled up but I don't like the patching direction i've gone... now, i could have saved an un-cabled version of my patch but I'd much rather select all or just click an option to uncable everything rather than go through each module one by one, double-click dragging or right click disconnecting. takes a lot of time and is hard on the ol' wrist.
in another situation i might want to delete the cables from a specific section of modules. why go through each one when i can just drag a box around the modules and right click/disconnect all or something like that? |

That idea would more usefull on the G1 where drawing cables did not force a recompile, I suppose. I intensely longed for this feature many times, but all of those times were on analogues. Even a feature that hangs the cables back on the cable rack would be nice.

Starting from scratch- a handfull of modules, but no wires.
Even 10 modules take some time to drag & position. Myself, I have tendonitis from using the mouse over the years, so any shortcuts are helpfull. |
