www.SiMuL.us - New upcoming electronic musician |
 |
|
http://www.simul.us
Extra, Extra!! To all electronic musicians and/or listeners!
Brand new site for a not so brand new artist, SiMuL, myself. I've been composing electronic music for over 11 years now with PC music software and a few external midi devices. I've also been 'mixing' vinyl for the past 8 years or so.
These are some of the genres that I spin/compose: breakbeat, electro, trance, house, deep tek, jungle/drum-n-bass, & anything that is intelligent and diverse. I'm not one to fancy too much of the 'pop' radio BS, but sometimes there's a gem amongst the stones, if ya know what I mean.
Some of the songs I've written:
- Hypnotizing : Deep, smooth, Hooj-style house with rolling vocals and a smooth bassline.
- Surprise : Clean & Crisp breaks, cross between electro and south florida breaks.
- Jammin@the.controls : Progressive Drum-n-Bass, one of my best jungle tracks to date.
To compare myself to other 'mainstream' DJs & artists, I consider myself extremely talented. I have a keen ear for perfection and I love good quality music. So come on by and take a gander at my site and listen to my music!!
I also have forums setup so as to be a good resource for any and all musicians looking for advice, tips, help, etc. It's brand spankin new so don't expect a lot of traffic yet, but that is exactly why I'm posting this here!
Anyways, at least stop in and send me some feedback on my own music, and maybe post a note or two in the forums. I'll be waitin!
peace out!

I had not seen the other meaning:
Etymology: from the outstretched neck of a person craning to look at something
Date: circa 1914
: LOOK, GLANCE <take a gander>

SiMul,
Welcome to electro-music.com. Thanks for joining the forum and contributing. There is another electro-musicican from Texas here, Redskull who has contributed quite a bit. You might want to check out some of his posts, including one enbtitled Texas-Based Artists Seem Slighted. I assure you, Texas-Based artists aren't slighted here.
I listened to your tunes and voted "Awsome". I was tempted to vote "Well made but not my style", because I generally don't care for music with a constant beat, but your stuff is different from most of what I've heard of this genre. I want to give you some encouragement with my vote. Your music is sparcer than most of the music I have heard in this style. You use a few sounds and modify them over time. This gives some subtilety to listen to. Lots of people doing this kind of music load it up with every sound the can throw in.
Keep up the good work. Hope to see you around. |

I know two different meanings for "snotty":
1 : foul with nasal mucus
2 : annoyingly or spitefully unpleasant _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Gee, everyday I learn a new word.
I had never heard of "snooty":
1 : looking down the nose : showing disdain <snooty people who won't speak to their neighbors>
2 : characterized by snobbery <a snooty store>
If I had to choose I'd rather be snooty than snotty

Carlo, we were joking, or trying to.
I'm pretty sure SiMul used snotty for meaning #2 above. I said we might be snooty. I was speaking in jest. We are neither snotty or snooty. |

Hey guys!! Sorry it's been a few days since I've been on... I've been busy as hell lately!
seraph: thanks, about the avatar! I did that a few months ago in photoshop... I think it symbolizes me in a way... It definately symbolizes 'simul' .. look that up in latin; means "at the same time; together" .. I didn't even know that when I coined the name waaay back when in the BBS days, but it sure fits my motives now!
you guys are a good light hearted bunch, I like that!! I'll be visiting here often! I'm at work right now so I better not spend too much time here.. but I'll be back shortly. (I need to check the other threads out as well...)
take care and peace out!

Simul is not a word, but it still has a meaning that is easy to infer.
That makes it a great artist name! |

Yup.. good artist name. We have this norwegian band called "Turbonegro". Which is a good one too. On stage they are like a heavy rock version of the Village People .. and the vocalist is putting firecrackers up his ass.

hmmmmm...... I am looking forward to see Turbonegro
A few years ago I was the leader of a trio I called "Minestronics".
Isn't a cool name?
I chose the name because:
1)it sounds Italian (minestrone means vegetable soup) but cosmopolitan at the same time
2) a vegetable soup is a blend of many ingredients (in our case acoustic instruments played live: alto sax, flute and drums, on top of prerecorded electronic music and me on "live electronics")
3) the ending -ics reminds of electronics or things like that
4) last but not least: a well cooked minestrone is really tasty (if you know what I mean)
btw you can check samples of Minestronics on my site _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube
