Hi,

as CA3046 and familiar tranny Arrays are getting more and more rare and expensive i would like to ask if anyone of you had experienced with the polish UL1111 tranny Array.
could this be a suitable replacement for those CA Arrays (3046,3086,3096)and is the differential pair closely matched?
Have bought a year back a package of 10 CA3046 for 6$US or so and now a single chip costs the same... but unlucky as i am i have only 2 left and 2 destroyed... Very Happy

Anyone with some experiences made so far or any thoughts on this?

Or by the way are there other functional replacements except re-building it using solely matched tranistors?

cheers bastian

I have not checked the specs in detail, but the newer HFE3046 from intersil seems to do the job.
http://www.intersil.com/en/products/space-and-harsh-environment/harsh-environment/transistor-arrays/HFA3046.html

Only "disadvantage" is that it's a SOIC-14 (but its large enough to hand solder to a DIL-adapterboard)

had that in mind too... but htey also cost about 3 euro each at ebay plus shipping and These Adapters also cost a bit... sums almost up to the Price of an original...

hmm.... seems i have to go for soldering trannies instead or pay those Prices or even just try them out... Laughing Rolling Eyes

What about the LM3046 from Texas?

I used UL1111 in my polysynth as differential pair in VCO, and in ladder VCF in place of 3046, and it works perfectly. Just keep in mind, that these are old (NOS) chips - CEMI, who manufactured them, was shut down in 1994, and UL1111 was probably discontinued few years earlier.
