filter feedback patch Subject description: patch needed |
 |
|
On my old AN1X I fond the filter feedback function very useful for fattening up the VCO sound and giving the tone a more analogue feel.
I seem to recall ages ago seeing some patch diagram somewhere to replicate this feature on the Nord Modular.
Does anyone have a link to the patch diagram or better still a preset for the patch itself?

A mixer with a free input before the filter section should do the trick |

just dont forget the level inverter in the feedback path |
Thanks a lot for the suggestion! As I'll be home I will try it...I'm an NM newbie, I was reading the suggested page and example but it doesn't explain why he used the inverter over the feedback signal...could you please in few words explain me the theory behind this? (I suspect there is a very common and basic rule behind this, but I started right now studying this things in detail)
Thanks again! _________________ -Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit DAW (Asus P6T Deluxe V2 + Xeon W3670)

Filters induce a phase shift, its just to correct this phase shift in the feedback path. Short answer is, if you dont put an inverter it wont work. |

Thanks a lot
I will try with my synth (and hears) as soon as I'll have the NM in front of me! _________________ -Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit DAW (Asus P6T Deluxe V2 + Xeon W3670)

Well, I've tryed and am a bit perplex about results...with the inverted signal in feedback I have a kind of attenuation over the global signal, without inverter I have a stronger signal, more similar to the result with the An1x.
But it was late night, so maybe I did something wrong...I'll try today from scratch with a new patch. _________________ -Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit DAW (Asus P6T Deluxe V2 + Xeon W3670)

Oops, looks like it may be a flub on my part! Ive only made this patch with a clipping module in the feedback path to emulate "analog feel" and the phase shift is from the symmetrical clipping (duh) not the filter. Sorry for the confusion on my part. |

No problem at all !
Trials & errors are generally the biggest part of the game _________________ -Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit DAW (Asus P6T Deluxe V2 + Xeon W3670)
