1 sample delay?

Hi,

Anyone know the most efficient way to achieve a single sample delay on the G2?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

p.s. Many thanks to the creators and contributors of this forum (you know who you are!), this has been an invaluable resource for my G2/synthesis knowledge over the last year.

I'm too busy to find and exact reference, but use a 1 channel mixer. That is equivalent to a one sample delay, or Z to the -1.

Can a delay module be used as a single-sample delay when set to its minimum setting? The minimum setting is .01 milliseconds, which is 10 microseconds, which is about the length of a single G2 sample. I've verified that a delay set to .01 ms does delay the signal, but I can't tell if it's actually a single sample.

When the delay's minimum delay would be one sample one would expect an inverted signal added to it (in a "parallel" circuit) to cancel out with it. As illustrated in the attached patch.

The cancelation seems to be near perfect, maybe this gives some insight in how the delay modules work. I suspect the delay modules to be more than 16 bits wide but using some encoding to achieve this.

Like in : The timing delay probably is one sample, but the little bit of residue signal (in the attached patch) must be atributed to the encoding scheme used, maybe ?
