New Nomad build works natively (with Java) on macOS |
 |
|
Hello,
For anyone interested, I have made a new build of the Nomad editor for the NM classic. Jan aka Blue Hell helped with tackling issues and testing on macOS.
You will need Java 1.8 installed and I have tested it on macOS 10.14 (Mojave) in a Virtual machine. Jan tested on a physical machine. Catalina might work, but we have no hardware available where MIDI hardware drivers are supported.
Get Nomad 0.4.20191212 here: https://oracle48.nl/Nomad/index.html
No new functionality has been added, just fixes and support for MIDI on newer macOS versions.
Regards, Airell. |

I have updated to version 0.4.20191218 .
This adds starting the Nomad application without opening the package file and solved an issue with opening and saving patches.
It assumes the default location of where java is installed.
I'm aware of 'gatekeeper' and I'm not a registered developer so you will get the 'unknown source/developer message'.
Download and please also read the instructions at: https://oracle48.nl/Nomad/index.html

Oh wow what a nice way for the 'ol G1 to kick the new decade off!!
I can't wait to try this! The midi issues always made me go back to the original editor...
Thank you for keep it alive!!!
This synth has completely rocked my world and I never really suffered from GAS after getting it 10 years ago.
All the best! |

Any idea how to get the editor working under Ubuntu? Both windows or macOS setups do not work as such. However, I suspect it should be relatively easy to launch this also under Linux with the correct launch script. |

The app is launching but I don't have the midi configuration window, and the properties screen lists : Info, Settings and Notes. But not Connection Settings.
Any idea ? |
