I think that mountain switches are a good choice. a bit expensive but good quality. I have to check if there are avaliable in DPDT and 3PDT and go for them in Mouser.

I'm not sure about the pactec cases, I want to keep a compact format and metal cases. But I have to look at the dimensions of the PT8, maybe it feets perfectly, I don't know.

anyway tomorrow will be a nice day to keep working on thiS!

Cool man, well let me know if I can help in any way.

Cheers, Ben

The thing is that I'm using the same pots and switches of the sympleseq... there is enough room for open jacks but I don't like the small presence of the pots in the panel. Too little space for the knobs and ugly movement.

I just need to change the knobs for taller ones. Smile

RV141F-40E3 seems a good choice. Is 25mm long so the pot will be like 1cm long from the panel.

http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/13/RV141F-40E3-18BL-BXXK-185110.pdf

The only cont is that the body is different and I have to adapt all the PCB, but it will not be a big problem.

And it uses washer and nut, so the whole machine will be more solid.

They don't have the 100k audio value. I've been searching for 25mm long pots and there is no option for 5k 50k 100k lin and log. Mad

The only options I can see now are conitnue with the existing ones or going to something like this http://www.banzaimusic.com/Alpha-16-PC-ANG-100k-log.html. It's stronger and more solid but it means to adapt all the PCB and depending on Banzaieffects for now.

Definetly I will go for the RV141

A few minor improvments and silkscreen to do but this is close to the final version. I smell a rat

Thanks!

I want to add a few trimmers per channel. Two of them will adjust the feedback limits at the 2 switch positions. It's difficult to set the same value for the two ch with a resistor so the trimmer will be very usefull here.

The other one or two will control the filter frecs. Now I have filtered lots of unwanted noises from the chip but also losts of hi freqs are filtered but maybe you want all the noises, so this trimm will adjust the cut freq.

All the trimmers will go at the rear side of the PCB so once it is mounted you can adjust them with no much pain.

I will make a second Jellyfish of one channel with a knob associated to the filter. And other things.

The knobs don't like me at all, but this is a question of taste, i will try with a few more.

this have to be perfect! dwarf

PCBs are comming Exclamation

This is slower that I thought.

I have a setback with the cases. The thing is that I have designed the PCB taking the base of the Hammond 1590DD cases. BUT the case that I have bought from Dasmusikding was not a Hammond 1590DD, it was something similar without the 2 screws/holes in the middle of the 2 sides. And now there is no space for the PCB in a Hammond 1590DD, only in the "1590DD type". Any thoughts on wich case can be that? There is no logo in the case.

If guys from dasmusikding can not supply me lots of this cases maybe I will consider to design a plexiglass case like the ones of mutable instruments or this one http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=sammichsid

Confused Confused Confused

Hmm... thats a shame.

The guy who makes the shruthi cases is Frank Daniels, fcd72 on the shurthi forum, hes a nice guy, who makes some really good stuff.

Im sure you can contact him via the forum.

However, Im not a huge fan of plexi to be quite honest, its a bit easy to break.

i guess youve emailed musikding?

Cheers, Ben

Yes, I'm waiting for an answer.

Plexiglass cases from Mutable Instruments are laser cutted at www.ponoko.com, but I prefer metal ones too. These are more solid and provide a better isolation. Anyway I will find a solution. I hope people from dasmusikding will tell me wich is the manufacturer from the cases.

The post with the black, yellow and black designs are photoshop designs. no intention to looks like reality. Wink It's only an idea.

The other attachments are schematics or photos.

Anyway the final design will be the black one.

Black Knobs prototype. I love this one.

Note that I have made the silkscreening / painting myself so there are some errors here. But that's not the point now.
