Sampling and the G2 |
 |
|
I would like to know if there is any sampling software out there that brings in Nord Wave capabilities to samples. I'm sure this is doable in Pd or Max/Msp. I've used LiSa off and on for 10 years but I'm looking for something different.
Anyone have a clue? |

| Ableton Live Sampler has some such capabilities. I imagine that E-MU Emulator X3 does as well. What about Reaktor? |

reaktor's a safe bet. I don't know if the X3 lets you do things like FM of samples. However, I'm sure the filters are excellent. I miss my E5000 Ultra...
Of course, the X3 is the only sampling software mentioned that can actually sample, as far as I know. |

hey peter,
I got the blofeld to do such things. the upcoming sample option lets you import samples into the unit and then run them as osc's (like in the Nord Wave).

Hey Dasz, please report as soon as you get the ability to import samples into the Blofeld. I sold mine long time ago, before the sampling option was announced. Otherwise I would have kept it :/
I'm very curious about that feature. The Wave is too expensive for my wallet, and too big for my room. _________________ Cheers,

No kidding? Damn, that's awesome!
I should have grabbed a Blofeld when we were at Tom Lee's. |

there is no official info on whether the samples are retained after your shut down, but the sample transfer is via midi (mind you the Blo's USB midi port should be very fast), so I assume it so.
Once i get the option running I will post my findings.
right now I have some issues connecting my x0xb0x and blofeld to my pc via USB, and the option is not yet out (the software is out, but you can't unlock the feature -- the response part of the challenge is out supposedly, but the information is minimal).
I'm waiting until someone has done it. and succeeds.
I have one week left to return the unit if I chose to.

| I would be curious to know your take on the Blofeld Keyboard vs. Nord Wave question. |

Might we worth looking at http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-33790.html
Se can get the samples onto the blofeld but not play them, some key must be required.
Transfer is very slow over usb but it looks like it retains them. |

| My understanding is that the Blofeld Desktop requires an extra-cost authorization key before it will play samples; the Keyboard version comes with sample capability out of the box. |
