Rectifier for Eurorack? |
 |
|
I am sure I need one. Full and half wave rectifiying maybe with offset control.
There is Bananalogue WVX, which according to the manufacturer is "pretty non- linear". If carefully adjusted, Doepfer A-136 is capable of rectifying too, but propably not very well in practice.
As I am not a DIY man, I wonder if I am out of luck? Is anyone interested in building me one?
Best regards

Just diodes, surely?!
Half-wave --> one diode
Full-wave--> four diodes (or a bridge recitifier)
Maybe some buffers too and may as well add in some nice bells&whistles to fill up a panel. _________________ http://www.bugbrand.co.uk

Nord Modular rectifier module:
"The Rectifier (diode processing) module can be set to discard of any positive or negative input levels (half wave rectification), or to convert the input signal to only positive or only negative levels (full wave rectification)."
Analog implementation is with diodes, as bugbrand says.
Best regards

Cool,
Initially I thought you were talking about PSUs. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

I think what you are looking for is a precision rectifier circuit.
This page gives some good information on using super diode circuits to achieve half and full wave rectification. I've been experimenting with the circuits shown and they do work very nicely: http://sound.westhost.com/appnotes/an001.htm
I'm still experimenting with addition of an offset to allow rectification around something other than 0 volts but haven't managed a satisfactory solution to this yet.
Cheers,

When it should reproduce the NM rectifier module it would need to be something like that indeed. _________________ Jan
also .. could someone please turn down the thermostat a bit.
9 3 4 .. erm .. not 13 then? .. hmm, ah eight! .. yeah yeah as in 8647 .. 47 is an 88 .. pwew .. numbles! |

| Precision would be needed. I am not sure about the usefulness of the offset setting. |
