 To listen, click here!.

We did it in 2006 and 2008, so why not do it again? Lets have an online electro-music.com international New Year's Eve party and electro-jam. Almost all cultures celebrate the January 1st New Year so this is sure not to offend too many people.

We will set up our shoutcast server to run all day Dec 31 through Jan 1. We'd like people in their studios to set up live streaming of performances, jam sessions, or any kind of musical expression for streaming. The electro-music.com members and lurkers can tune in and share the experience. Hopefully, we will get people volunteering from all over the world to sign up for a time slot. Pick a time convenient for you - it doesn't have to be Midnight in your time zone, but that would be cool.

To do the streaming, all you need is a PC with Oddcast (now called Edcast), a free program. If you have a Mac, you can use the Nicecast program (free demo works for a month the last time we tried it) to stream. If you are are interested in participating, we'll set up a test server just for you to experiment on to make sure you can get it to work.

If you are interested, please let us know but posting a reply to this topic. We'll pass out times on a first come basis. I'll stream from my house at midnight Eastern US time. We'll have some electro-friends over to jam. Why don't you do the same?

 It's party time...

 Oddcast (Edcast) instructions posted: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-13780.html

Mac OSX users are encouraged to use NiceCast which we have tested.

A page has been set up with the schedule. During the event the streaming will be hosted here: radio.electro-music.com.

Everything is up and running here to do it again. I'll try to have the hourly beeps & the news on time (which is not easy with all the elastic latency on the web ...).

I do have quite some noodles in the machine, but I'd like to have noodles from others in it as well, just like we had it on the last noodling event. So anyone having noodles and wanting those to be played on the event: please send 'm to me or let me know where to pick 'm up.

| If you feel there would be sufficent interest in my style of electronica I'd be happy to have 15 to 30 minutes solo on the early side, say 7PM or so. I am working with some new instruments and would be happy to share the resultant new live concert music. When will the event begin? | |

| Great, we're off to a good start.
I'll start up a time schedule and post it soon. Jan, I'll contact you off line and we can take care of all the details.

This time, I think we will only run at one sample rate, say 128 kbs. Dialup users probably aren't going to be enjoying this even if we streamed at 20 kbs.

Spread the word on other lists and forums. There isn't much time.

 Ok.

A detail I forgot to mention about the noodle radio, contributions for it will have to be in the form of (edit: self playing) Clavia G2 patches or performances - performances are preferred, but I'll rework patches into performances when needed.

| I can contribute, UK time, which will be somewhat ahead of US time, but behind Noodle Radio. _________________

| ...ramona and i will probably be able to do a short set...perhaps longer if we get someone else to join us.
ramona has been studying indian sarod, and has progressed astoundingly fast. since she is playing in a recital in jan, perahps she will play the rag she has been working on.

| I got a stream working. I'll run a test for a while.
 http://80.176.194.250:8000

I think that will be the same as http://mailgate.harriman4.net:8000 but I need to check that, or someone else can.

I'll leave a stream on for a bit, see how it works.

I'd appreciate feedback, if people can hear via one method or the other.

| Sure, we have plenty of slots available. I got sucked in to fixing some programming problems on the site today and yesterday, but it is related to the streaming. I think that's sorted out now and I'll start to put the schedule up tomorrow. _________________
