so now facts are: after running nomad become a midi time out, same as many users before
but nothing found which helps by using ubuntu studio,
maudio 4x4 maudio delta 1010lt, amd 64, no midi connection, is it an java fault ?
want to make music
untill now i want to make it on an linux sys,

high,
the circumstances for today are: nomad running on ubuntu studio amd64.
(and i thought it makes only a sense running US the realtime kernel, not i386, don't know if it's possible)l
yes you can get connection to a micro modular via midisport. but it's more a
roulette if it works or not, conclusion for today is: if you wanna work with your micro editor better do it not on an amd 64 linux sys. why that? when im well informed (for other knowledge i will be very thankfull) there is an java program called tritonus found on (http://www.tritonus.org/plugins.html)
which will implement your alsa sounddevices midi and audio whithin java applications. but it only works on i 386 systhems. so what to do is write an java app. for amd 64bit ! for god sake i'm not the right one for this ! so if there are other possibilities please mail. read ya

Hello,
Which version of java do you use ?
Under ubuntu should use the sun version of java:
Try running that command in a terminal:
Code: | sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre |
It will install the sun jdk.
Then run:
Code: | sudo update-alternatives --config java |
And select the jdk having something like sun-java-6 in its name.
Tell me if it helps,
Julien |

high julian,
java version is ok : 1.6.03. or sun java 6 called in synaptic.
And after installing the previous version of nomad and connect over the midisport4x4 not over maudio delta 1010 lt , set midiclock ext in another editor /win 9 i got him. and after this nomad 3.02 found the micro too puhh...,
at the moment just have to find out how to save patches in the micro, loaded in nomad (and a lot of other details but for this have to consider help in other forums). first thanxx
