questions re: my FARNELL FUNCTION GENERATOR FG1

we've just got our hands on a disused FG1 that seems to be in good nick.
we want to have some fun with it, but the connections are old school and we need help finding out what they are.

any answers or suggestions on where to look for information would be greatly appreciated.

there are three pictures attached with a whole british pound coin there for scale. the pound coin is just over 2cm long at 22.5mm.

the front connections look like co axial but they aren't. neither male nor female coaxial fits, but it's very close to fitting. i've seen them on old pieces of kit that i've never used, and seem to have a little nob on suggesting that the lead "male" end would have a grove into which the nob is screwed.

Looks like BNC on the front and bananas on the back.

if i wanted to trigger through bnc cables, could i use a cv source and make a bnc to 1/4" jack cable?
