Subject description: C7 on the S&H pcb

Hi guys

i have a problem..
i cant get a Polystyrene Capacitor here. (i searched all over the country)
its C7 component on the S&H parts list, can i use another type of capacitor ?

You really want a very low leakage cap in there. The 'hold' will probably drop in pitch fairly quick if you use something else. It's possible you may be OK to substitute with some other type if your samples are going to be very short...
try some and see what happens...

You can use a polypropylene capacitor to replace it, should be no problems.

You could also use a silver mica capacitor. If you can't find those or polypropylenes, PM me your address. I have a couple styrenes I can spare. If you can wait a wile, I'll send them through letter post at no charge. If you need them fast, we'll work something out.

for polystyrene or silver mica caps these guys are really good

i have used them quite a bit and they are fast ,cheap [no min ]and post anywhere without insane postage costs Wink
they have 10n styrene caps for about 0.49 GBP each
