You need to use two, with all controls and inputs being the same .. or vary them a bit for liveliness ...
In the case of an envelope ... its possible to use one, but hen you need a multiplier module for the 2nd channel which is contolled by the ENV output of the envelope module (2nd from right at bottom).
Or turn the thing inside out, and use envelope and or filter before the pan module .. you still need two then of course, but its more clear when the two parts start to differ in their settings .. probably. _________________ Jan

This seems quite complicated and complex to use two filters, envelopes, etc. in order to be able to just pan two oscillators.
Panning two oscillators isn't such a big demand for a synth.

Hi Florian,
My guess is that you want to scroll from 1 sound to the other.
Otherwise, what is the point to separate signals and let them come together in 1 device(module).
You can find the X-Mixer in the mixer map.
2 separate ins to 1 out. |

In fact the idea is to spread to oscillators, slightly detune each one and then pan a bit to the left and a bit to the right... |

Thanks for your time and patience! I'm currently learning...
From your patch I learned that for two panable oscillators I need two separate filters each with its own envelope, two separate LFOs with all their controls etc.
Now I wonder why it is so complicated and complex to build a synthesizer with the G2 with two oscillators each with its own panning?
In my eyes it's a quite usual and common synthesis concept to have two oscillators that you can detune and pan then both running into a filter etc. (e.g. Sylenth1, Virus TI, Twin2, Synthmaster, Omnisphere, Dune2)
A simple two oscillators subtractive synth is easy to build with the G2 but once you want to be able to pan the two oscillators it gets really confusing and complex and you have to build modules for each oscillator.

It is as complicated as 'under the hood' of e.g. Sylenth1, Virus TI, Twin2, Synthmaster, Omnisphere, Dune2. Here, you only have to tweak knobs but a fixed structure is below. Altering the structure by knobs and switches.
Maybe you will find this a downsite.
The upside is, when understanding patch structures, you can make far more complex/interesting things than the synths mentioned above.
Your own things where your imagination (and DSP) is the limit. |
