this may be helpful if you are using single supply power:

i started with these 2: (both use bipolar power supply)

Hi Pixelator:

Some options:

I have looked around a lot and as far as I can tell if you need 8+ octaves of v/oct tracking without using a dedicated chip, the easiest option remains the ASM VCO.

I have built this now 3 times, I have a new layout on my site, a couple of users are trying out the new fab so i can't vouch for that yet.

I can let you know how that goes.

Pretty sure Elby designs can sell you a PCB or kit? I recall they took over the ASM project.

Also if you want to go single chip Cool Audio sells a reboot of the old Curtis VCO chip. Not sure if that's less parts, but you don't need some of the matched trannies and whatnot. Here are some schematics that use it, I've never tested any of these but I'll bet others on the forum can weigh in.

There is also a "LookMum" video on youtube where that guy has a series of vids about building a vco around this chip. No idea if any of it works but the lookMumNoComputer guys vids are always fun.

https://www.lookmumnocomputer.com/projects/#/cem-3340-diy-simple/

AS3340 are roughly $10 shipped on ebay. cheap version of the cem3340, synthcube has Original curtis chips for $15

Easy build, sam makes great stuff.

I'm building this next week, I'll post notes and samples when I complete it.

Great, please let us know how this works!

I have some 3340's that need to be used for something, and LookMum always has great respect for low parts count. you got to just love the sam lookmum guy. He's funny and super enthusiastic, the really impressive thing is that he gets like 70K+ views for vids that involve DIY audio--wait, that's what we do! I didn't think it possible!!
