So, if I'd solder one up and add a antenna it'd go "beep" at a variable pitch? And instead of the volume pedal I could use the cv-outputting antenna Rob build me? So I'd have a complete theremin that way? And it doesn't need some realy rare and expensive stuff aside from the stuff you have?
I think I'm interested.
Are you the sort of person that has a turntable and might like to trade one of these for The Hague electronic music? I have some nice comiplations here. Look at THIS and scroll down for "creme/bunker nippon 1 and 2", there are samples there. Would that make a trade? _________________ Kassen |

the pages have already been scanned and can be downloaded here
if you want to swap
i have lots of TL072ACP Low-noise JFET-input operational amplifiers (Texas Instruments)
and tape heads (stereo/mono)
they all are unused.
i would be interested to swap something or pay.
lets say for 2 or 3 boards?

Well, Rob build it for me. It's build as a live intrument; it's just a black box, it has a internal powersuply, a calibration knob and a removable antenna and outputs a voltage between minus 9 and plu 9 volts. The idea is that you calibrate it so that it's at 0 volts when no hand is near. It can be connected to the expression pedal input of synths or effect boxes though it should work with analogue modulars too.
I mainly use it with the NM where I have a patch that's a mutli-effect; I pick what effect I want (filter, digitiser, rithmical gate, ring mod, etc) and will have the most relevant parameter controlled by the antenna. I also use the NM to translate the voltage to a MIDI cc and "play" Ableton Live with it.
I think it's based around a Doepfer cerquit board, I think. It's extremely simple in build and operation making it very suitable for live use, even when heavy traveling is involved. Sadly the shiney but thin antenna never comes out right on photographs but you could see it in this photograph I accidentally had online anyway, it's in the bottom-left, most up front, connected to the NM by a white cable. _________________ Kassen |

I've only got 9 unpopulated boards. I have had a couple of requests for several boards per-person. I may have to limit this to one per person- in order for it to be fair on people who haven't read the post yet.
Thanks for your understanding :) |

dnny,
I suppose those tape heads are cassette types? They look like that from the design? Do you have any old full-track mono 1/4 inch types? I have a really old broken Binson EC-3 echorec here which I'd love to get fixed- cheap of course :) The heads are fucked unfortunately. They say it's the best echo ever- this one ain't!!

v-un-v,
yes those are C-cassette (compact audio casette) 1/8 inch types.
so they are no good to your Binson, but if you want to build a mellotron or put your old dot-matrix to work in a different way... then you might need some -
ok so you probably don´t need my tape heads .. hmmm..
maybe some power supplys will be good for swap?
input 230VAC 50Hz output 6VDC 400mA.
they are insides of mobile phone chargers but the model was discontinued so i got bunch of these very cheap they are very small, stable and handy
still for the swap or should i just pay you for the board ?

I'd rather have one of these:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orchestron
If it was good enough for the 'Radioactivity' by kraftwerk LP........
Hmmm- I'm going to sell them cheap (boards- probably a couple of quid each?) so the latter my be the best option?- unless you have some early Circle LP's you want to shift? Shame you can't post a good bottle of Finnish booze through the post- I bet the Vodka is good too :D
All those who wanted multiple boards- well that's looking more likely now, cos i've had no more takers. |

Is acid back in in Holland? It's been a while here- I liked electro and early techno very much (especially the Rhythm is Rhythm and Model 500 stuff- later the Mike Banks and Drexciya and Aux88 stuff)- but life has moved on- I still like the funk element though (I still find it funny knowing what 'funk' really means!)
I got two records by some guy called 'ototax' from Holland. It's really good stuff- shame no more was made.
I'm selling the boards mainly to pay for the old laser printer I've just bought. So I reckon I'm gonna have to ask for cash I'm afraid (unless you have some interesting knobs or some LM136/700's etc)
best,
Tom :) |

Well, in our little pocket it was never realy gone. The Hague is responcible for it's share of acid, particularly the hardcore nihilist stuff. Drexiya continues to be a big influence here

Sorry, don't know him; I could ask around. Some of the real old school Dutch acid heads are close friends.

That's entirely fair. Make me a reasonable offer and sugest a method of payment and we'll see how far we can get. _________________ Kassen |

So what are we talking U.S. currency or maybe I have something laying around. Did you ever make that Shin Ei fuzz? Maybe I can seeif I have enough stuff laying around to populate a vero for you and make a trade.
I made a cheap little optical theremin I reckon this will be a step up.

I'll trade you my populated theremin for a Shin Ei clone- yes please!!
It's really difficult to do anything here. I constantly arguing with my girlfriend because she dosen't get why I like to do and make these things. this really pisses me off. I don't have a workshop/area either which makes it even more difficult to get anything made/ finished. |

I'll look into my parts tonight and see what I have and see what it will take to make one. Time to lose your chic just kidding. Sometimes wish I had one b@tching at me everyonce and a while. Yeh I know careful what you wish for, I should take back that last statement. I was lucky enough to have a friend give me a nice large workbench. It totally made things easier and more organized for me. Well I;ll let you know about the Shin Ei. _________________ "your stripes are killer bro" |

Whats up y'all
I got one of these here theremins and assembled it this weekend. I was surprised the sound was very nice. The tuning is a little tricky but I could actually see playing some simple melodies on this thing. I found a nice little retractable antennae and a cool little box. Thanks Tom. I recommend trying one out it'll make a nice little addition to all the other little gadgets you folks probably have. _________________ "your stripes are killer bro" |

Unfortunately I don't have a digi cam, but I'll try and track down a friend with one soon and get a pic posted. The box I found at the thrift store is pretty cool. I reckon.

Allright this picture is crap. I forgot my mini dv can take pics. No flash and the light reflects to much, but I'll post it till I get a better one. The box is about 4 in tall and 5 wide. I should have made the antennae straight, but thought it looked cooler crooked.
