Using Bank Upload and Download Subject description: Making sense of these features. |
 |
|
I'm playing a pair of G2's; just joined an improv band and decided it would be good to have the same set of sounds on both so I can easily get to anything.
So I'm trying to copy all my sounds from my main instrument to my secondary. What a f*cking pain, no offense, Clavia.
Here are the problems I'm seeing:
1) So far, Patch Bank 2 is always unusable. That is, I save it, and then when I try to send it back, I get the message, "Can't browse this bank". Pfft,
2) Performances are even worse. When I select the Download command, the Performance radio button is always disabled unless I select "Download from Folder"; if I do that, the whole folder is dwonloaded, not just a performamce single patch bank. In other words, there seems to be no way to download a single performance bank, unless it's in its own folder. Which is a royal pain in the ass, given the way this whole thing is set up.
Does anyone have any practical tips on how to do what I want to do (that is, transfer everything from one G2 to another)? |

Well, I found part of the problem (from the manual):
TIP!
Don’t save several Bank files in the same folder on the computer.
OK. Whatever. Clavia, if you're listening, this part of the program could use a serious redesign, especially if a software developer / UI designer with 20 years of experience can't figure it out w/o reading the manual. |

Yup, everything works now. Just blew away the old data and redid it. Slow, but it works. |

Just noticed this topic. I've been having the same problem. So you have to save each bank is a separate directory. Who whould have thought of that? Thanks for pointing it out. What a mess. _________________ --Howard
