0k, this might be a stupid question Embarassed , but could I use a MIDI-cable from sync to sync or is there a special sync-cable? Both uses DIN connections right? Confused

You do NOT want to use a MIDI cable for DIN Sync unless you are positive all 5 wires are live inside of the cable, MIDI only uses 3 of the 5 so the other 2 are not connected correctly.

IIRC, DIN Cables are compatible with MIDI but not visa-versa.

I've heard stories about people frying the DIN sync on 808s by using a MIDI cable.

well, I know that connecting midi to sync isn't a good idea... but I still don't understand. Embarassed Whats the difference between a midi-cable and a sync-cable... they both look like this

They may look the same, but the internal wiring between the pins on the two ends may not be the same.
