What do you mean? You're gonna need the next 10 years at least to both build this stuff, then to experiment and make music with it! _________________ ACHTUNG!

YAY!
count me in for one set of boards.
is there a BOM online somewhere?
how will this all happen - are we going to receive a PM with ordering details? might be a good thing, because we'll get an email notification about that.
i have to admit it: i just dont check electro-music each day and nearly missed this thread. oops! |

That's a good question, actually.
The boards will be sold through the electro-music store, just as if you were ordering a CD.
The first run of board sets (after the proof prototypes) will be fifty. We're approaching that number just through this poll already. Chances are, that will probably be a sufficient number for those that have responded. Still, just in case it is not, perhaps I should compile a list from those in this thread and those who have PMed me, and notify you when the store is stocked. Then we could wait a spell until everyone who has been notified has had a chance to make the final decision and purchase, then go ahead and announce any left-overs in the store.
Tell you what - I'll go through the list and my pmessages and pmessage everyone here that they're on the list. After I do that, I'll announce here that I think I've contacted everyone, and if you haven't been contacted by that point, then you can let me know I missed you.
Does that sound OK? If so, give me a few days here to get my stuff together and start the pmessaging.
Cheers,

scott, you rock.
notifying those that said they'd like a set first is a good idea - it'll make sure they have a chance to get the pcbs. lucky me, signing me up just 30 minutes ago hehehe
i am sooo looking forward to the klee! |

I cannot wait for this project... the KLEE sequencer looks to be more exciting then anything I can find right now.
I am thinking about trying to do a front panel layout that would fit nicely into the aluminum tool case that I linked to above (Harbor Frieght item, $12 USD).
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=36870
How do people like to get front panel layouts? In PDF, TiFF, Front Panel Designer format??? FPD would be hard for me as I am on a OS X computer.

Holy cow, I've been going through getting names to PM and counting - we've blown well past the 50 mark, so the price ought to be not as bad as the original post. I haven't looked yet, but, wow - this is beyond my expectation!

Hi Everyone,
I'm just blown away by the response. Thank you everyone. I think this run is maxed out. I'm going to start the pmessage confirmation to you all. Remember, just because you receive a confirmation, that doesn't obligate you to actually pony up when the boards are ready. It does reserve a board for you for a certain period of time before a public announcement is made that anything is remaining in the store. I've got 49 people to message, so it's going to take me a little time to get through them all. I'll come back again and post when I'm done messaging, so if you voted for a board, and I didn't catch you, please pmessage me and let me know - I'll do my best to accomodate everyone on this first run, even if I have to expand the first batch by a few. As it stands, we're guestimating the price of the board set to be around $32 with shipping, give or take a small amount.
For me, the truly exciting part is looking forward to what you all produce with your electro-music Klee Sequencers. I had one fella pmail me about having two Milton's to install his next to. Man, I'd love that!
Off to the messaging. In the meantime, I'll leave you with a couple of links to some Klee stuff that never made it to the Klee thread or my site (they're from my Triple Wilson SVVCF thread of last April). Both samples used the Klee sequencer.
http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-17215.html
This first one is a bit repetitive - it was meant to run the filter through its paces. It uses a pattern that was "volunteered" by the Klee on power-up (you'll find that may happen to you - you flip the damn thing on, and you end up blowing half your day playing with the first pattern that is loaded in by chance*). It's 2.6 MB.
http://electro-music.com/forum/download.php?id=7559
The second one I put a bit more thought into. The first part is based on a sequence I looped in a Digital Delay - IE, there's no Klee Sequencer to that. The song bridges into a second part that is almost totally Klee - the slow ascending and descending pattern it's based on was generated by the Klee Sequencer (it comes in after the "vocal" part). Not the resonant trills (that's all LFO driven), but the main backbone of that part. That bridges into the last part of the song, which is nearly 100% Klee - it's a sort of Mideastern sounding thing that has the Klee driving one voice, while the "lead" voice is driven by my keyboard through the same filter, which is driven by EGs and CVs produced by the Klee. That part was done in one take (no multi-tracking), which is typical of most the Klee samples I've produced.
See? The Klee plays nice with the other instruments.

Cheers,
Scott

Okee-doke, modularkomplex.
I've figured out this goes pretty slow on dial-up I've got ten confirmations out.
BTW, if anyone of you said you wanted "two" meaning two boards, not two sets of boards, that's fine. I'm assuming "two" means two sets, just to be on the safe side, but, as with anything at this stage, there is no implied obligation - this is just a reservation process.
Cheers,

Well, thank you both for the kind words.
I've just sent out all 50 PM confirmations. Up to this point, if you've expressed interest, and you haven't received a confirmation PM (which is quite possible), please PM me!
Cheers,

Scott! I remember reading stuff about your DIY filter & phaser on the gas station a few years ago. Having read most of the long Klee Sequencer thread (I have a headache!) I'd really like to order a set of boards if you have a space spare, if not, could you put me down for the next run?
Many thanks. |

Norman! I had no idea you were here at electro-music.
Yep, I remember you from the gas station, and I've been following your musical adventures through your occasional posts to the Wiard list. I'd love to hear how a Klee sounded in your setup! I expanded the order to 80 board sets, and you're number 80. I'll send you the official confirmation here presently.
Looks like this run is officially maxed out. Thanks again to all.
Take care,

Hi Keithwin! to electro-music.com
I'm afraid, due to the popularity of this project (and for our own sanity- and wallets!!) we're gonna have to cap it at 80 (it was going to be 70...but as you can see...).
If you wait around, there may be some who will inevitably drop by the way side- probably because they ordered too many in the first instance etc etc. So hang about and see. There will be another run after this one- especially as this is proving to be a highly successful project.
So, for fairness sake, this also goes out to everyone else too who haven't yet ordered. So hang in there folks!
