Haha

There are two ribbon controllers built into the sides too. Those buttons all don't have any labels because they change functions (from playable to mode setting, etc) depending on various configurations. A big part of the learning of this thing will be to memorize those modes.
For the record, 133 buttons is more than enough. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Well... OK... When I said "stop" what I really meant was, "stop... until I've sold some more gear on eBay".

Nice. What groovebox are you thinking of? |
Thanks. I was originally considering a Korg ES-1, but have just acquired an Akai MPC500 (expanded to 128Mb), which should do a bit more (and takes batteries).
Another +1 for the Eigenharp, BTW. I'm trying hard not to be jealous... and failing miserably. |

It's gonna be a "classic" because by the time it's discontinued, only well-off IT experts such as yourselves will have been the only people who have aquirred them, thus making them even more rare and desirable.
It will be interesting to see what software is added to this beast. As it stands, I'm not entirely convinced yet
I'm toying with the idea of plummeting for an NI Maschine. Anyone got one? EM's search 'engine' brings me here, but then I am forced to wade through 42 pages of gear lust! It's all tooooo much!!! _________________ ACHTUNG!

Truth be told I wouldn't have gotten one if they hadn't done that drastic price-drop campaign here (something like 45% paid).

Have you tried your search in google, with the domain set to electro-music.com? Google is better at finding the exact page that the words are on. _________________ Antimon's Window

The price drop made it interesting to have a go at the Origin. And it´s a good thing i did. It is excellent. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I have a Maschine Tom. It is sitting unplugged in the corner while the Origin gets used every day!
In fact I have had three Maschines, this one has a dodgy display but at least the pads work!
The first one had a bad display (horizontal line issues) and then just basically fell apart, the second ones pads were crap and the third one has a bad display (one screen much darker than the other). Very poor build quality, I got fed up of sending them back in the and just stuck with the crap display.
I haven't tried version 1.5 of the Maschine software yet, this was meant to fix the issues that made the original useless, unfortunately by the time the update came out it was disconnected. Maybe I will have another look.

@Stefan; Yeah Google is a far better way to search. Thx
@Stein; I don't doubt its excellence, but my god currently lives in a cave based in Stockholm, is red and answers to the name of Nordelius. Hail!
@Andy; THREE??? WTF? Maybe I'll just get an MPC3000 instead! An MPC is probably a better move anyway, because you can't surf the web on it. _________________ ACHTUNG!

Anyway, where did you find the Origin with a 45% reduction? According to DV, these units are still top dollar;

That looks pretty cool! Makes me think how much real estate I could gain back on my work bench by having one of those. _________________ Dave

Have you tried ticking the the "Display results as: Posts" -option? It brings up 17 postings that mention "NI" and "Maschine".

Well, it could be.. but the Origin certainly invites certain other flavours that IMO aren´t that obvious here.. possibly..
Perhaps I should listen to the track again on better speakers? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
