Maplin only have that size and the large ones I would love the size in the middle that the Modcan B modules use _________________ Cheers

Where is your "offset" control?
Thomas
PS. Looks nice otherwise! Great use of almost all mixer inputs!!! _________________ Thomas

Great looking panel Fadedata! I'm liking modcan stuff more and more....
I think he's got the offset control labeled as Freq - in fact that's how it's labeled on one of your panels, Thomas. When I was deconstructing your 2u/1lpg panel design to suit my needs, I debated about whether to change the label to offset, and eventually did. |

When you make a Modcan A panel where do you get the piece of metal and how do you do the graphics. FYI folks, the Modcan A panels are about .15" thick. |

The original image didn't have either I fixed it...
What should the labeling be? Offset or Frequency, I guess I don't understand how that control would be an offset from watching the videos...
BananaPlug:
I've built a few EFM modules with aluminum panels I made out of stop sign material and taping panel controls to the front (yuck). My current direction is to use Front Panel Express to get the panel with holes cut and then use my companies laser engraver to do the graphics. From the tests I've done it should come out very similar to Bruce's masking method.

| Yeah, FPE for the holes and a laser for the graphics. That's what I've settled on too. Laser shop #1 didn't turn out to be practical but I'm about to try another place. Hey, can you laser other people's panels at work, for some fee? |

WARNING... WARNING... WARNING!!!
It has come to my attention that my US builder list for Mouser has INCORRECT part numbers for the pots. The module needs linear pots and somehow I listed audio-taper ones in the BOM. Take heed of this warning and make sure to use linear, particularly for the OFFSET pot. The resonance pot could be audio and not make too much difference in operation. SO SORRY guys! I guess for this one thing to slip through the crack is not too bad considering, but I hate mistakes none-the-less. I'll get the BOM corrected ASAP. _________________ Thomas

| Do you have part #s for those 16mm pc mount alpha pots for 50K & 10K in Linear taper? All the pc mount ones I found at Mouser were either Audio taper or 24mm. |

Currently I'm not all that interested in starting any kind of business around laser engraving panels. Sorry...

| Still nothing has showed up. I'm considering selling the components I bought as a batch for anyone that hasn't yet got round to purchasing them. This includes ICs, Vactrols, and basically everything you need to complete two boards, minus resistors. I have a pair of VTL5C3 & a pair of VTL5C4's, my intention was to build both slower and faster versions of the same circuits. Preferably someone in the UK to save on postage. If anyone shows interest, I'll list out everything I have and what I want for it all. |

I bought a bunch of 17mm alpha linear taper pcb mount pots that work -
10k - mouser # 31CW401F
50k - mouser # 31CW405F
The pcb leads seem a bit flimsy, so you might not want to do a panel mount using just these, but with a bracket they should be fine.
And there's also the old standby spectrol 249's but for some reason the price has gone up to 11 dollars and some change for each of these - I think I just bought the last 2 of these I'll be getting. |

What's the degree of turn on these, I ordered the 31CA401F and 405F and they turn from 0 to approx 8, so I won't be using these ones.. _________________ -

| I hadn't thought to check that. But I just did. The ones I got go from 0 to about 9. Not ideal but useable. There's probably a better option out there... |
