It's actually lazertran - it works much better then transparancy paper
lazertran was a rolling disaster for me.
you must have a delicate touch
Nah, I don't see the lower left corner - the logo is all torn. I was kinda hard handed when I put it on. I used the laser version, and baked it in the oven. So the whole thing has melted over the aluminum
I saw your Dekatron on youtube just a few days ago! It's a really cool project! (And I was wondering about the lizard! Is it the same with the bird in one of your other videos as well? Or was that the bird that picked his eyes out? Poor thing...) Love the whole tube modular! - though the 200Vpp to signal sounds kinda scary!

wonder what I did wrong? when i baked the lazertran it just went all brittle and could be scraped off with a fingernail
nevermind, just use copy paper and contact film these days....or just a pen, if i feel really slack
The kookaburra used my garden to teach its baby how to hunt, once they decimated the gecko population they moved on. really beautiful birds, love watching them hunt.
Whatever pecked the eyes from the beardy dragon was quite small, maybe a New holland honeyeater. I suspect he was trying to steal eggs.
I have some gory pix of one of his eyes hanging out and blood oozing...but let's leave that for another thread
The dekatron runs on 450V Dc, has a little voltage multiplier cct attached to it. Thats about as zappy as it gets!

AndrewF, Sounds like a cool wild life in the back yard! Wish we had cool looking lizards as well in Sweden. But on second thought I'm kinda glad we don't...

hey zthee. i was wondering on your 281s? where is the peak inputs, and the amount pots? i would love to see behind panel shots?
Mono-Poly, The box in the picture is actually a real Serge boat, that I borrowed from a friend. I've spoken to a guy who's got gear to bend and box aluminum. And he's gonna make a new one for me....
I posted this panel pic in '2008 builds', but have finally got it working satisfactorily....tho' still a work in progress.
Looking back in my umm "files", i have been stuffing around with this since 2006.
The problem with a dekatron is that it needs 2 trigger signals which must be 45 degrees out of phase with each other. This is easy if you are using the same frequency all of the time, just choose an appropriate cap. gets tricky if you want to vary the clock rate.
There are designs out there but never had much success with them.
Recently Ken Stone posted a design for a relay based programmer/sequencer. looking at this gave me the idea to use a relay in the clock cct. The relay is triggered by whatever signal i feed it. When triggered it feeds a 120VAC 50Hz signal into the dekatron. As the input subcircuit is set to create a 45deg phase lag with a 50Hz signal, it ticks over nicely. Using my judd bell Gate, i can condition the clock signal to be a trigger, stepping the dekatron one stage at a time, or a gate causing the dekatron to jump multiple stages with each step.
Also below and in the vid is a tube amp built this year, not exactly synthdiy, but is used for listening to my synths.
the lizard is a Western Bearded Dragon that lives in my garden. the poor thing has had its eyes pecked out so is totally blind, seems to get by tho.
it has a suicidal habit of basking in the middle of the driveway on sunny afternoons
yes has to be in sepia
You're DIY gear is just too cool! That sequencer is awesome. The amp looks like it would make any tone freak scream, which is something I thoroughly enjoy doing.
Got 3 voices now operational with the drum synth,5 more to go, have to keep the momentum up as i get distracted quite easily from finishing off builds.
Please excuse the pheasant feather duster behind the pulse, i have very dusty synths

love the chunky guitar amp!
looks completely guitarist-proof and could double as a weapon to repel stage invaders.
Thought the price is very reasonable too, hope you sell 100s of them.

Thanks Andrew, I'm really pleased with that design. I've actually sold half a dozen already. I'm sad to see each one go - especially as my own one is the prototype and looks like $h!t by comparision with the one in the photo!
I value you comments regarding the price - it was difficult to come up with a figure that covers my costs/time while still being good value. I think I got it right. _________________ http://www.frequencycentral.co.uk/

These were up until recently a pile on the bench-
From L-R: Wogglebug #3, Noise Swash, CGS bpf, Jerkster, CGS D.C.mixer, Noise Ring.
I have a few more that need panels, and another 8 or so pcb's to be built. I hope to have the case filled by June. There will be another row behind what's already there, and one row in the top half of the case. I may also switch to banana jacks at some point.
The rails cost 20 cents from the tip, i had 20 panels of various sizes made up for a total cost of $3.40, and the case was $15.
I really love the Jerkster and Wogglebug!
