I'm guessing a revised Wave with more sample memory. |

Yeah, I seriously doubt a g3. It's a risk to be launching a new keyboard in this economy at all (although things are slowly improving) but something like a g3 that will only appeal to a small # of Clavia's customers, I don't expect it. Not that I wouldn't like a g3+wave in a box, but they seem to be doing much better with stage pianos etc. than pure synthesis these days. |

I would find it difficult to believe that Clavia would introduce a new modular synth. But I would buy it |

In the last few days I have seen many Nord Modulars listed for sale, especially G2 engines. I wonder if these people know something we don't?
Most likely not. Guess we can look forward to some new organs. I want an organ that can do internal feedback? Is this possible Clavia? |

Don't be disappointed...
Instruments like this are most likely to be introduced at NAMM rather than the Messe. Easy to predict it would be a Stage without the organ.
Clavia started this project way back in 2008 and at the most two employees worked on it... The rest took of on their holidays or painted the lobby or were telling they loved the way Hans Nordelius had his hair cut or some other very important issue...
This is just an in between release, but we have probably to wait a year or so, so 'stay tuned' and in the remaining time iron all your Clavia T-shirts.

First I thought this was a joke and had a good laugh. But when I realized that it was TRUE , I almost pissed my pants with laughter. "Nord Piano" aww, come on guys. What's next?
I'll never reckon with a follow-up to the G2, but a NordLead4 -that is to say, simply a NordWave with all the design mistakes taken out -would be nice. |

So...so...ugly...
Well, this is about what I was expecting so I am not disappointed. I just don't quite understand why someone would go for this instrument.
To me, if you want a classic piano rather than a synthesizer, it would be black with a narrow strip of red felt above the keys. And you can get a nice hammer-action keyboard with a beautiful piano sound for probably a much lower price...I'm sure Clavia know the market better than I do, I just don't understand the buyer's thought process in this case.

Do you mean thy started the piano project in 2008? I can see it is a 'special edition' of the Nord Wave technology family with an appropriate keyboard, but you seem to be hinting at a future combination of the Modular and Wave families.
Are you implying that at Clavia, modular versions come a little time after they have made the money back from performance keyboards? For example, after the wave has succeeded as a 'musica'l synth and made money for Clavia for a few years, the same technology can then be released in an 'experimental' (ie modular) context? [/i] |

I think it looks awful. Nevertheless, I think Clavia is a great company so I hope it's successful. |

Reaktor will soon be upgraded to version 6. Jasuto modular synth for the iPhone sounds just as good, if not better then any nord modular, yes I've had them all. And Jasuto is being massively updated, a new release is immenent.
So, if Clavia is waiting to wait out the recession, they won't release anything new for the next 5 years.
I think I can open this piano and modify it to do feedback ya?
But, Wout knows something, I can hear it in his voice, ya? |

On their website they say they are very excited about this new product (a piano). I'm just wondering how that would be possible? Is there something in the meatballs, if I lived in Sweden I would be horribly frightened... |

I know as much as you, really.
They don't tell me, but what they are telling will sometimes give a clue.
Just keep in mind to a good listener the CIA leaks too.
And when they tell a lie you see their noses grow...

I don't understand why you are so derisive about clavia.
You are all dreamers here. Why Nord should build another modular synth for 100 users since they could reach more users with other product like the nord piano ?
There is also musicians with specific needs, they probably don't need modular synth if they only want to play pianos sounds without having to move their big pianos. We are modulars, but we are not alone on this earth.
Of course I'd like to see another modular synth by clavia, but they also need to survive...
So ( I'm a dreamer too), they probably like to build another modular without capitalism & marketing in mind, but they also need money if they want to offer original products. So, Nord Piano could be a profitable product for the future? That's the question.
Sorry for my bad english. |

| Because the Wave is due for an update, and if they update it by using the G2 codebase, then not only do they have an easy way to improve it later on, but they also pick up some customers they would not get otherwise. |

The wave with a G2 codebase would be excellent. That is something exciting. |
