Clavia Patch |
|
|
Hey guys, I remember playing NM1 at samash last year. There was a patch called clavia. When you play the keyboard, you hear "clavia" .
Does anyone has this kind of patch for G2 or any advice to make those patches |

Kees van der Maarel made that patch and several other speaking patches for the NM Classic.
I could not find a port of the Clavia patch, but there is a G2 coffee! patch at http://www.xs4all.nl/~rhordijk/G2Patches/Kees%20van%20der%20Maarel/
All speaking patches made by Kees, the ones I saw .., have a name ending in "!" and no other of his patches have it.
I don't know if Kees is an EM member, if so I hope he will step in.
Meanwhile, what I concluded from his patches is that he created set of small module groups, each group representing a letter or a vocal unity. Some of these small groups are put into a patch and they are sequenced then.
Understanding the rules is not helpfull in any way, it's an art and Kees is a master !

I tried the coffe patch last night as well. It does not work on OS 1.24 either. I messed around with it a bit, but fixing it is not obvious to me. |

I tried some things as well, but couldn't get it ok either.
The main step seems to be to set the sequencers to single-shot mode instead of repeat mode. But soundwise it wasn't like I remeber it and I could not get that right.

I have messed up the dsp's in some of my patches before by overloading polyphony, memory/cycles, etc. and received a sustained, dirty, high frequency, monophonic sine wave on the output. The only way to get rid of this sound was to close the editor and then turn the synth off, then reload functional versions. (This has happened on v. 1.24, I have not tried the beta 1.29). The coffee patch produced similar results for me. The problem is well over my head, all I can assume is that something is not calculating correctly. |

The clavia! patch (link above) works fine on my 1.29 machine. I have working copies of the others as well but do recall some links to broken versions. |
