Taken two weeks ago, one week after falling down a flight of stairs (a fall, I might add due to Ullv*ng socks with their slippery soles!)

I managed to fall completely flat out by the bushes to the right here.

I do a lot of falling, and I can't blame the equipment all the time.

Beautiful pictures Carlo!

I've been doing quite a lot of research into William Morris and Victorian Gothic revival recently- for college. This was a photo I took recently of a local church. I just love that tower! (the brick wall is there on the right to help illustrate that particular presentation which was about Brick Gothic).

Birmingham is full of Gothic architecture Smile

We rented a cabin very near there one time when my kids were like 7 and 4 years old. They went out onto one of those fields to play and came back. My little precious daughter was holding a hypo saying, "Daddy, look what I found. What it this?"

I explained what it was and told her sternly that she would not be allowed use use intravenous drugs until she was over 10 years old.

Just kidding.

Talk about creepy feelings. Reminded me of the syringe we found under the bed at the Red Roof Inn in Atlanta the year before.

Nothing exciting.. yet another partial pano. I shot this one some hours ago. This version is reduced in size. The original is not 800 pixels high.. it is more like 2700 pixels.

Did you use some image stiching software? They look great, but you can see the jpeg artifacts on the birds. Wouldn't notice it anywhere else.

I had to reduce the size and also compress it hard with jpeg.

The original is some 14 000 pixels wide. As for the birds that is not quite artifacts.. rather the shutter speed. I haven´t removed some of the birds that overlapped, got blended away or did a Jonathan Seagull on us. I wil. Later on.

Stiching is done with PTmac which is the front end to panotools.

http://www.kekus.com/tutorials/index.html

I am using pano heads from Kaidan ( http://www.kaidan.com/ ) and Manfrotto ( http://www.manfrotto.com ). Tripods are Manfrotto and Linhof.

Where is everybody? You'd think that after being cooped up all winter, people would all be outside taking in the light. Shocked

Yes. Out in the countryside, a lot of deerhunting is done just like that. Get your comfy chair, your booze and your rifle and you are ready to "go" Shocked Cool
The lazy ones won´t sit outside while "hunting". They will simply open the window and take it from there.

...here in the u.s., hunting is very similar, except that hunters here climb trees rather than sit on the porch. the most common hunting accident is drunken hunters falling out of trees.

Climbing trees? That is a bit too advanced for us I think. At best we will fall of a cliff or drown in a swamp. It is all about attitude. In Norway it is quite common that whatever should have been a deer or an elk is taken out just for the hell of it. The list is long. Some examples: Old german cars ( new ones will do just as well ), the local police, other hunters, ethnic minorities, whatever is on the WWF endangered species list, cows and that Ferguson tractor. Shocked Oh, I forgot creepy neighboors. Up on the list they go. American tourists are generally quite safe. We will either serve them caustic soda or send them off on a very secure rafting session. Sometimes we might do both. Very Happy

Norwegian hospitality is well known. We would love to send your president on a rafting session.

The menu:

1. Caustic soda served with various yellow, brown and grey substances.
2. Wash it down with a case of Løiten Linje aquevit.
3. And then we wave goodbye :

On second thought, did we ever implement this demon plan when we tried to make peace in the Middle East?

We are very security minded, so those red vests are bulletproof. They are filled with lead. You can be kept out of sight for like forever from norwegian hunters. Lead isn´t expensive either so we aren´t making a huge issue of the recycling thingie.
