At what frequency did you look at the wave forms, and was it the same frequency in both cases?

Yes, and yes.

To me it's confusing and wierd.. I still belive it's a power supply issue, but I don't know how to solve it..

Yes Hz of yes kHz? Laughing

It looks like the wave got flattened due to capacitive coupling, but for a 5 kHz wave this could be acceptable, not so for a 50 Hz wave though.

I don't know if this could be the case but since you're using 1/4" connectors, they're all Grounding to your aluminiunium (Sp?? Wink ) panel. I wonder if you could have a Ground short, from something??
(Still having to build mine. (sigh))

Wait ...... is it Mike Peake?? As soon as I read what you just writ above, the first name came back to me - I THINK. Please rem'ber - me gettin' old. Wink Smile

Now, are we speaking Synth-DIY or ...... I think Analogue Heaven, wasn't it??? Very Happy I don't think as far back as rec.music.synth in '92 or so .... ?

Aye. Disappeared in '98 or '99 from just about everywhere. (Bad 'no get up and go' time in life, for a few years. Moved to Propellerheads Reason from '01 to '06; started building again finally in middle of '05, fully waking up and dumping Reason in early '06 and DAMN glad to be back! Smile

Still trying to find a couple of people also. Have been since coming back to building, with no luck. Sad Roy Tate - know where he might be, by chance? Smile

What YOU up ta? Very Happy

Hi,

I'm sorry but i didn't understand why you went for separate GATE/TRIG sockets...you can't patch them both at the "same" time (for retriggering)

that's the function switch that matters ?

Hi all,
i'm having a problem with my env, the attack and decay times seem to be very very short. In cycle mode i can hear that the cycle is very short (audio frequency) and seems to change only very slightly when i turn VR2 or VR1. Since i dont understand really much about the circuit, does anyone have an idea what could cause this or give me a pointer at which parts to look?
Another thing, if i dont attach the LEDs, is it still necessary to have R33 and R30? I inserted the resistors but dont have any LEDs yet and i'm not quite sure about how to calculate the right values for the Resistors.
Any help would be much appreciated,
Tom

hi, when you turn the trim pot, does the frequency change? do you have an oscilloscope? are you 100% certain you have all wires connected properly?

I also have question--haven't finished my boards, but:

I installed my quadrature circuitry on my "A" boards by accident-- I wasn't reading carefully enough, I guess.

Is there any reason why they wouldn't work correctly here? They are my "A" boards, because besides the quad circuit, they're assembled according to "A" parts list.

Obviously, it wouldn't be too much to change this, or to add the quad circuitry to "B" boards, but if there's no reason to--I rather not.

Any suggestions? Thanks

when i turn the trim pot, the frequency changes, but not as much as i'd expect (maybe from 800Hz to 850Hz in cycle mode or something like this, just guessing). Unfortunately i dont have an oscilloscope here, but i'll certainly doublecheck my wires again and also the caps values.
Thanks for helping!

ok, it looks like we have enough preorders for a 2nd run. i am emailing everyone for confirmation, as soon as i have that, i can place the order...

@ a_guy_called_tom:

it sounds like something could be up around the current source. what FET and zener did you use? do you have a DMM? double check resistor values and all solder joints.

ok good luck, it's probably something simple.

For the zener i use a BZX85B10 and the MPF-102 is replaced with a BF245B. Yeah, i have a DMM. Will check the joints and values again. Thanks for the hints!

Topp, you've hit the nail on the head. Now that the FET sits in there correctly, all works fine and dandy. Now its time to improve the design of the frontpanel. Thanks a bunch!
