i started the klee2 in 2007, it was actually finished in 2008

Haha, I don't even have an album started. How about I'll make you a synth and you can make me an album on it

My 2008 has been sad for finishing anything in comparison to 2007. However I am taking the last week of the year off in order to try and ram some projects thru so they are not hanging over my head for '09.
I think I built in '08:
CGS seq/programmer
4x 8038 osc
Quad MS20 LFO
CGS sub Osc
CGS Steiner
Warp 633 ring mod
Some stuff for other people.
Oh man I'm feeling a bit sick typing this. gotta get back to work. Too much gigging has severely retarded my building schedule.
Awesome work everyone else! |

In 2008 I've built:
MFOS VCO
EFM VCO4e
EFM Dual ADSR
Fritz Threeler VCF
MOTM 440 VCF
CGS Steiner VCF
CGS Wavemultiplier
trigger in/voice mods for DR 110
and I fixed my broken TR 606!
I've gotten started on another handful of PCBs, but just haven't wired them up to a panel.
All of that while raising a family and being a senior in electrical engineering! (designing and constructing a 5.2GHz Doppler RADAR and other various school projects)
In the next couple of days I should be completing a "CGS Digital Noise + Psycho LFO Module" and a "Fritz 5Pulser + CGS Tube VCA" Module |

I moved in late March - and was not able to build for over 2 months. My backlog grew, but I think these were completed in the past year...
Modules:
2 MFOS Quantizer
2 Fonik Attenuverting Mixer
Ian Fritz Jerkster
Ian Fritz EZ-Chaos with 'Dwell Hack'
Ian Fritz Driven Double Well Chaos
CGS Gated Comparator
Freq to Voltage Convertor
CGS Infinite Melody
CGS Sub Oscilator
SN Super Controller
1-in-4-out CV Dist & Passive Attenuators
MFOS Dual VCA
Joystick CV Controller
2 PS-3100 Resonator
Thomas Henry VC QFG
MFOS VCO
Other:
Mahogany Cab to hold modules
Modular Lunetta
Guitar Fuzz pedal and various flavors of Distortion pedals for some friends.
Probably some more stuff I forget....
I have several modules in progress (partially wired, not yet paneled, stuffed but waiting on a part or two) ...but the year isn't done yet!

Very nice sound, who does your panels ? schaeffer ?
You seen to use almost the same layout as I do with my panels, 25mm between pots, only I use 1/4" jacks.

Sine: I see you use anonized aluminium? do you make the holes? If yes, how do yo do the elongated holes? I like the minimalism of your design. I feel them elegant. Do you label the front panels? Is eurorack?
About my panels, yes they are from Schaefer, I mark the holes with their software, but the label I do with this http://www.abacom-online.de/uk/html/body_frontdesigner.html and with the advices founded here: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-20883.html
But since now i will make the front panels like the mankato ones. You can save a lot of money, and you have the option of make prototypes and also is much more fast. I bought sheets of aluminum, 1,5mm thick, and 128,5mm width, so I only have to cut one dimension, the HE, with a plumber saw and drill the holes. Very easy.
About the dimensions, it is Eurorack, but if I start again I will go for a 4U front panel. What do you think about? In any case is good for learn how to save space without compromise ergonomics.
Im using 13mm diameter knobs, and the distance within centers of the knobs are: 27mm Mankato (too little, it is not very comfortable); 30/28mm the Fonitronik filters and 26,5mm Klee. I think that the best, in order to it will be comfortable, it is not less than 30mm although if you have a non very populated front panel you can make this distance lower, but one of the distances must be 30mm.
It also depends of the size of your fingers.
About the 3.5mm jacks, one of the dimensions must be not less than 20mm.
Regards. |

I'm ashamed at how little I've gotten done! And the majority of what i did fo was just buy up used MOTM modules! I didn't start until August though . . . and I still have 5 days left so . . I'll let you know in January what I got done for 2008! |
