I like it. I think I prefer this with the small knobs. |

sure. i think a resistor and a LED would do. _________________

i eventually added the calibration procedure
to the current building documentation.
BTW nice one, jan. _________________

Nice looking blue design there, very logically laid out.
The color scheme reminds me of the design on old Deltalab Effectrons. |

Do i have a problem with my gate ?? , my gate output , when all stages are set to 'on' , the circuit is outputing a constant gate voltage (12v ) (supply is 12v ) traced all the way back to pin 3 of the 40106 . |
not talking about the 12V here:
if all stages are 'on' there will be a constant voltage at the gate output. same goes for two subsequent steps that are both 'on': they will merge and form one long gate. that's the reason i added the trigger. the trigger length follows the clock width, thus generating seperate triggers/gates for all subsequent steps that are 'on'.
what voltage do you measure for a single gate? _________________

Ah , ok , i understand now , silly me .
voltage at gate out on single is 11.22v.
Collector on Q5 11.88v.

sounds good to me. are you using an LM324 for the buffers? _________________

BTW great module you've built. and it is good to have the LEDs near the step switches and pots... _________________

That's what I was thinking. The designs I've seen with the pattern LEDs all together kind of confuse my old brain. I look at them and have to stop and wonder what they mean. Putting them near the switches/pots gives me instant visual feedback as to what's going on. |

I am now .
i chose to use 5mm leds because im rubbish at crafting a nice rectangular hole in aluminium for the strip version leds heh , i also had lots in the component drawers to use up .
Thanks for the comments , i will get some audio tests up over the weekend.

Nice one, Dave. I'm stoked about this sequencer...got 2 to build, but no enclosure to put them in.
I plan on controlling mine from one of the two M-185 sequencers I've got to build from ryktnk. The combo should be great. The M-185 is 8-steps but each step can be retriggered up to 8 times before moving to the next step. So it can act as a kind of song arranger, storing up to 8 pattern changes and/or CV transpositions over the course of its cycle. |

glad you found out...
fortunately the labeling on the PCB and in the documentation is consistent, so it is just the orientation of the connector itself, that does not match the MOTM standard... _________________

nearly done with the rats nest last question: how to wire the (and to where) >0V and >5v LEDs (lowest two ones on your design panel) ? _________________ Homepage - http://www.czmok.de

I am still stuck with something:
- LED1 and LED2 now connected correctly (as i may assume), then with 95% turn of clockwise of the Offset i get the >5V LED lit. I NEVER got the <0V LED on, tested function by reversing LED1/LED2, so LED is definitely okay.
- Calibration does not seem to work, i still get fluctuations on the LED and cannot select the last pattern with T1.
@fonik: got a bit of time for troubleshooting ? seems a minor one, but i'm not able to find it. _________________ Homepage - http://www.czmok.de

hallo jan,
do you use latest building documentation (06.07.2010)?
last pattern would be 0000000I (gray code).
do you use external voltage to light the <0 LED? _________________

i am using the latest build instructions including the calibration info, however still the same issue.
i connected LED1 and LED2 to those (>5V <0V), but i am not able to get the 0V one lit. what do you mean with "externally powered" ?
i tested the LED's and both _are_ working. _________________ Homepage - http://www.czmok.de

the <0V LED does light when the CV is below 0V, this can only be hwen using control voltages that have negative excursions. you won't get negative voltages when turning the offset pots. _________________
