I just discovered something wierd..

If I'm editing a performance w. the editor (Win XP SP1), and have the G2 in Global mode, then pressing R kicks the synth out of Global mode (in addition to starting and stoppong the sequencer, as it should.)

Has anyone else seen this?

It does it for me too (Win XP also). The hot keys list says that R is supposed to Toggle Master Clock (=run/stop & can send midi start/stop from G2). I am guessing that the G2 is not able to toggle the master clock this way in global mode.

I would be totally shocked if it didn't do the same for me. It does.

What do you all mean with "global mode" ? "Global panel mode", "global parameter pages" or some MIDI global mode ?

My manual seems to know nothing about plain "global mode", yet you seem to have agreed on some meaning for this word combination. Or dou you mean "performance mode" ?

Sorry, I can be very stupid sometimes, and I really don't get it.

You're right, there is no "global mode" named as such by Clavia.. by that I mean when global parameter pages are selected. "Global mode" is less wordy ;').

Ok, thanks jamos, that's clear now.

Does this (the mode toggle) happen on the synth, in the edotor, or both ?

Ehm some explanaion might be needed, I'm running a beta currently that seems to not reproduce the problem. But I have engines only, so things may be different.

Also the version 1.26 build 212 demo version (the soft synth) does not seem to have this problem.

This might indicate hope :-)

This would be a keyboard only G2 problem. R turns off the master clock in the editor and the synth while in global parameter pages. The undesired effect is that when you have the global pages selected for the keyboard screen displays, pressing R not only turns off the master clock but kicks you out of the global pages and displays the patch settings of the selected slot as well.

Does this mean that the editor's "parameter pages" (Ctrl+F) and "parameter overview" (Ctrl+L) dialogs (that both have a "global mode") do not change mode along with the synth ? I had expected these to be coupled.

Anyway in my editor pressing the R toglles the clock's running attribute, but it does not end the global mode in above mentioned dialogs.

this does not effect the parameter pages window in the editor. Although I have noticed that even toggling the master clock in the editor using the mouse kicks you out of the global pages display of the keyboard.
