Subject description: anyone got some samples?

Hi
Probably this should be in diy, but searching for 'Vosim' brings me to this forum and I see some people have implemented the Vosim design on their Nords.
I have found an analog design for the Vosim in Electronotes, and am thinking of building it .... eventually.
in the meantime, I am curious to have a listen to some MP3s
to see if it does what I hope it does.
If anyone can upload or direct me to some samples of this, I would really appreciate it.
cheers

Try http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/010_NordModular/015_Workshops/Hordijk1999-2000/VOSIM.html

It's a little bit scrambled by the internet (I think the text is twice on the page) and it's written to the NM Classic (Oscillator Bank doesn't exist in the G2), but it's usefull. The writer is participant on this forum BTW

Wout

Oh, sorry, no mp3s Sad

Based on a quick read of Rob's text.

Included the prf in case you have the G2 demo.

Cheers

(andrewF -- you can get a "demo" of the G2 that runs on PC at the clavia.com website) (it's somewhat limited, in that only 1 patch can be loaded, monophonic, and a few features such as the MIDI modules and some of the heavy DSP ones are all disabled. But it's still very useful none the less, and it's still real time).

Thanks jksuperstar and g2ian
i have seen the demo before but have tended to avoid softsynths.
i can see from how quickly you can put together a patch, it has some advantages.

as i understand it, the sine^2 wave (sine wave multiplied by itself) results in a 'squared' sine wave, the shape is changed, not the frequency.
would it be simpler to use other waveforms such as trapezoid? (eyeing off my Till trapezoid generating thru0 VCO)

Not quite Very Happy

Squaring a sine yields another (co)sine with double the frequency, a DC shift and amplitude reduction. So basically it generates the 2nd harmonic.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigonometry.
