if there is any interest i could do a run of professional manufactured PCBs. this is an easy to build project, no obsolete, expensive or hard to find parts.
the board would be about 10.-EUR/14.50USD, providing MTA connectors for all controls. minimum would be 40 advance orders.

so here are the schematics:

I'd go for 2. They look pretty simple too.

I have to say you've handled all your PCB projects in a such a positively exceptional way that it would be simply a pleasure to buy some boards from you once again.
So, two boards for me, please.

Such modules are really damn useful! Very good that you're offering PCBs, Mathias. However, I recently DIYed my own slightly different versions (-- two twin attenuvert mixers) so I'm afraid this'll be the first Fonitronik PCB I don't partake in!

I recommend at least two for everyone else!

thanks tom,

the response was rather faint until now, though. i expected this somehow: this is not a sexy module at the first glance, no imposing sound manipulation or something like this. Wink

but it is a very very useful voltage processor nevertheless. each mixer, voltage processor, or multiple expands the possibilities of your synth, and this one is easy to build, straight forward...

I think sexy is way overrated (in a modular). It's the plain old utility modules - mults, mixers, VCA's - that you keep coming home to....

I know this one will get a lot of use in my system - and a PC board just makes it so easy....

Thanks for offering to do this one, fonik.

I don't really get it:

Is this for CV-only or will it work with Audio signals? Confused

both, say audio OR control voltages.

when in AC mode the modules works as a simple audio mixer. the output is AC coupled: the signal goes thru a capacitor and DC components are removed. the LEDs are disabled (would be on all the time when indicating audio).

when in DC mode the capacitor is bypassed, the LEDs are enabled. now you can mix and process the control voltages, i.e. (as scott already mentioned) apply an ADSR signal to channel #1, attenuvert (inverse AND attenuate) it and add offset with unplugged channel #2 (Switched Scott Socket method Wink ) . now you'll get an inverted ADSR going from 10 to 0 instead 0 to 10...

the single outputs (not AC coupled) of my prototype are build following the SSS method, too. as soon as you plug a cord in, this channel is no longer part of the mix.

hope that helps.

Yes, then I'm staying with my 6 PCBs order.

My modular will get big and I'll definately need them.
Mixing signals rocks! Wink

Hello, sorry the off topic but I'm wondering...

I've noticed that there are some modules that allow AC /DC in the same input, and there are others ,like this one, that have a switch and carry the AC through a capacitor.

why? What is the difference within them?

Thanks!

i am not quite sure if i understood your question correct.

we handle audio signals as AC. we want to pass them to the next module AC coupled (or capacitance coupled), the DC offset is removed by using the cap. offset in audio could cause popps and plops.

we handle control voltages as DC. here we don't want to get rid of the offset, we want to use it, therefor the cap is bypassed.

Thanks, Good link. It has helped me very much.

But , eg. the PlanB's model9 allows both AC and DC, without any switch.

Could it block in another way the possible DC portion of an audio input?
