Re: 2xBuchla LPG and Dual Serge Processor and others...
Sorry for the dumb question but how do you DIY Modcan? Just because I'd love to be able to but was under the impression they only sold built modules. Did you simply replace the panels?

U mean, u ask for PCB layouts of modcan modules?
I asked I'd he'd sell a PCB and provide a BOM.
Also realized he was probably building in the format rather than exact Modcan modules. I've mainly looked at the Modcan B modules which are basically in MOTM format and forgot about the A series probably being its own thing.

handle with care
About all of my building this year has been putting prototype boards for the new modules behind panels. The first photo is a 3u rack panel with a Teezer, two Threelers and a 4-input VCA.
The second is a small project box with a Teezer and a DoubleDeka. When prototype testing I usually have long leads to all the pots/jacks, and for the little box I just stuffed them all in. Quite messy inside, but I checked to make sure the two oscillators don't self sync, and they seem fine. So the extensive PS decoupling used on both boards has paid off well.
Behind the box you can see my "Sprott Box" chaos generator (built a couple of years ago) including dedicated gate and trigger generators, plus a Sin VCO for external drive and modulation.

Those look great, Ian.
What is your method for labeling?
Thanks, Bruce. The labels are water slide decals (Bel). Quite difficult to work with, and they always show through a bit. The decals are followed by coating with acrylic then sanding with a block, over and over until the surface is flat. For the litttle box I sprayed the final acrylic from a distance to get a matte finish.

I'd like to come over and play with that Sprott panel!
Are those clock-faced knobs multi-turns?
Shure, come over anytime!
Yeah, they're Bourns knobpots. 10 turns and very linear. Like instrumentation grade. They stopped making them a few years ago, in favor of the ones with "digital" readouts. I managed to collect a bunch from a salvage yard and my dad found some too where he worked. Before they stopped selling them they were going for ~$90, so I'm very lucky to have a bunch.

I like your panels Ian
Do you have any samples of the Teezer/Double Dekka box, on its own?
I imagine that it would make some lovely sounds!

Here's a quick picture of my work in progress synth. I got fed up having to get everything out and patch it up with crocodile clips every time I wanted to play about with it so I strapped it all to a bit of cardboard
Looks rubbish but makes it much easier to work on.
If anyone's interested top left is Rene Schmitz's 4069 VCO. Top right is a CMOS based VCF, basically a cross between the Wasp and the MXR envelope filter FX pedal. Bottom right is a Yusynth VCA and bottom left is Nicholas Woollaston's ADSR from this thread.
Hopefully one day it will all be hidden away behind a nice panel

It's basically Ken Stone's CGS66 but powered by a 15 volt AC wallwart rather than a using a transformer. So it only uses one of the "18VAC" connections and "0V" and only 2 diodes.

Lots and lots of cool pictures here. Why didn´t I choose the 5u. I hope the Eurorack will not put me off and these boxes won´t end up in the ever growing "to do" list.
Currently toying with the (lack of?) ergonomics and ramdom Dymo labeling just to get the feel of the whole thing prior to erm... actually build circuits...

It's taken about a year of toiling over a soldering iron, but I have finally finished my first row of modules! In lieu of decent photographs I have uploaded a video from my iPhone - the picture quality isn't great but the audio is pretty decent quality.
The modules from left to right are:
ARP Odyssey MKIII dual VCO
YuSynth ADSR (although it's not being used in this patch)
YuSynth Minimoog LPF
Buchla 208 Random Voltage Generator
MFOS Buffered Multiple
CGS Utility LFO - this is in a temporary panel made from perspex.
Thomas Henry VCA
A massive thanks to everyone who's helped me get this far with it!
I'll post some good quality photos up when I have access to a decent camera.
