One pleasant aspect of just selling boards, and not finished products, is that you all surprise me with so many different ways how you build your effect. I love variety Smile

If you want to show me what you've built, and be an inspiration to others, here's where you can put up your photos.

I just got the idea when I saw the latest post in the Triple Chorus thread, with a clever way to improvise standoffs for PCB mounting. And while you're also welcome to post directly in the respective threads, I thought I just start an extra thread especially for pictures. Make this thread your gallery!

JH.

Once the Krautrock phaser PCB is populated, both the Krautrock and the Tau Pipe will be put in sloped Hammond enclosures.
Will take a while though.

However, as soon as they are done I will post pics. Smile

Nice to see somebody else combining a wooden enclosure with a metal front panel. I did this a lot myself - it's unexpensive, and in the rack , you only see the front panel anyway.

Keep those pictures coming, of what you've built!

JH.

Hi all. Here my 1U rack version of Compact clone and first post to the board.

I've added some extra features here. The manual switch is done with the same relay + CD4007 circuit as in the bypass switch. Mainly for looks of the front panel... Wink

On the back there is two extra jacks for CV IN to drive lamps with sequencers etc. (as JH mentioned over here) and CV OUT from the oscillator to use it with other gear. These are not tested yet and I think some sort of buffering (opamp as voltage follower) would be good idea to use with the CV OUT.

The sound of this phaser is awesome! Thanks for sharing this project.

Looks great.
Very clean, and you're using good potentiometers!

But tell me please: how do you fit the lamps and LDRs into 1U height?

JH.

I cutted the lamp sockets legs so the bottom of the socket touches to PCB. This made those about 3mm shorter. Secondly the studs are the shortest ones which I founded. 40mm inner height of case height helps alot too.

I had a plan b to drill holes big enough to mount lamp sockets trough the PCB.

Here's a Tau Pipe Phaser built w/ a Bridechamber panel, a custom "shallow" build for a portable cabinet.

It sounds so amazing!!

Thanks!

Yeah, learned a lesson while building the kit; never trust a component supplier on resistor values. Always check!

I had the 2.43K labeled as such but replaced with a 243K. Spent days on this until a run a complete resistor value check of the board to find the error.

This my Two Phasers case.

JH. 20-pole Phaser and JH. Krautrock Phaser.

I found the case on the street and removed everything (UHF video gear). I am using its mounting brackets inside to fix boards and transformer. When everything gets wired I will post a picture of panel+brackets. 20-pole Phaser is not finished yet. Krautrock Phaser has some issues (Bypass led and 3rd lightbulb not working).

I had an aluminium panel cut to substitute the original panel, and my friend (who is into DIY engraving/printing) etched for me some clouds. No names for pots, switches and jacks, because I was not yet decided on how to do it.

BTW, I found two identical cases. The second one is waiting for another project.

I just finished building Jurgen's Frequency Shifter and it sounds - quiet and clean. I'm so used to hearing digital pitch shifters that I was surprised not to hear the window glitching. For small shift amounts this one can't be beat.

Very impressive design. It sounds amazing for "natural" sounds such as voice and instruments, but is also a great timbral modifier for synthesized sounds. I've always wanted a pitch shifter and I wasn't disappointed. It was a big project, but I had a lot of fun building it. Thanks Jurgen!

I had the front panel ecthed at Front Panel Express up in Seattle Washington. Nice folks and they did a great job. The panel is based on Jurgen's orginal hand drawn design with a few small mods. I'm happy with the control layout.

This looks beautiful!

I wish I'd found the time to put mine into such an enclosure; my FS-1a prototypes are still bare PCBs mounted on a piece of plywood ...
