When you'd post something on the electro-music nm list with the word Kofi in it I'm sure he would respond Wink

It's now nord-modular@electro-music.com and yes, although the list is very slow, Kofi is reachable there.

I know it's not possible for you all to come, so i had in mind the following thing. ( i like presents so) i like to receive a birthday patch from you all.
It can be experimantal or mindblowin techno. And i will make 2 compositions out of them, one amorph thing, and the wild party one. Is that something?

Wohooo, just got this email in response to earlier enquiries I made (although I had already received an earlier answer):
Quote:
Hi

We are sorry for any confusion that we may have caused about this in
the past, so we thought it would be a good idea to go public, on our
web site as of today:

On January 24, 2008, members of the development team at Clavia began
the process on updating the editor and the drivers for the Nord G2
Modular. The team are working simultaneously on a 32 bit and 64 bit
Vista driver and an Intel compatible Mac version of the editor. We
cannot estimate on a release date yet, this will be announced later.

The Vista drivers and the Intel-compatible editor will be available
as a free download on this website when they are completed.

Sorry for the late reaction, but we were not able to go public with
this until today.

Best regards,
Tomas Johansson
Product Manager - Clavia DMI AB

Thumbs up!!!

Great!

Notice that he doesn't talk about an O.S. update but about the drivers and the editor. That's fine to me, since now I know that my G2 will last longer without having to use a dedicated PC for it.

Smile

Notice also the change in their website:

Yep, I noticed, but am happy about it as well. It means that G2s will remain 'current' for much longer, instead of becoming 'abandonware' in the eyes of the majority of the public if Vista/UB versions would not become available.

great news... Very Happy

Sure it doesn't mention new modules but is also a clear symbol that the G2 has not "yet" been abandoned.

I suspect it will be a long time before I buy a new pc and upgrade to vista but at least now i see it as a realistic possibility. Smile

That's really good news! Very Happy

The bad news though is that the G2 probably won't come down in price very soon though. My master plan was that I was going to sell my Korg MS20 and my Wiard Wogglebug and get a G2, but I do love the former units dearly.

Harsh decisions Sad

Perhaps I'll flog this Macbook Pro, buy a Mac Mini, and then use what's left to get a G2........ Question Idea Exclamation

He is on the NM mail list, but when I tried to email him last month, his address bounced.

Great News Very Happy

They don't talk about modules but they do say OS update,so we can expect some bugfixes at least, also I wish they could include...
spam
in the editor:
http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-9120.html
http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-19342.html

More patch categories, and MY SPECIAL WISH...: to save macro/building blocks in the editor memory and access it in the contextual menu (like reaktor).

in the modules section:
http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-9107.html
and a polyphonic sequencer Cool

The ability to edit patch categories would be helpful, as well as being able to add more
