Hi Julian,

Would it be possible to supply some way of mounting the PCB to the Euro front panel as part of your panel kit offering?

Thanks

Possibly.

I was going to make an L bracket for my own unit to fit behind the three lower pots, but i wanted to check the stability before concluding.

Attatched is a photo of a 5u m185 panel cut yesterday using the new cutters.

You can see that the quality of the cut on the square holes is far superior to the my last photograph. Well worth changing the cutter type.

The panel to the right is a custom digisound panel for infill comparrison, as the m185 wasnt yet infilled when the photo was taken (although no gloss panels will be infilled anyhow, as i think the silver looks better against gloss than the white)

That panel Julian is beautiful. The new cutters are definitely a good investment.

Very tasty. My PCB&PIC are due to arrive soon, so I'll be interested in a V2.1 5U panel later this month.

Hello

Julian the panel looks great, very neat.
What radius cutters are you using on the cut-outs ?

More PMs sending out this weekend.

PS A few people have dropped out of ordering, so if anybody
wants some extra, let me know.

The cutters are 1.43mm dia, so aprox 0.715 radius. Which is tight enough, i think.

The attatched screen shot shows the details. There is 0.3mm clearence arround the edges of the switch, and 0.1mm clearence in the corner, when the switch is at full travel.

The details were worked out from real-world measurement of the switches, not from datasheet information.

My aim was to make the cut-out as small as possible, without resticting travel.

I'm really late, I know Embarassed

I would be in for one PCB, one PIC and one set of switches in case anyone is bailing out. If not, I'm hoping for another run.

EDIT: Just sent an order to Ryk, there are still some left. Thanks again!

Does anyone know the current draw for this sequencer?

i use 16mm alphas--7mm works well for me

i use an led in an 8mm clip
i can step drill those out for my own use from the smaller holes no problem
i like that you dont have the numbers right up next to the leds in this latest design
looks great!

Now you're making me seriously think about going for a Eurorack panel. Wink

Very tasty. Thanks.

Is this what C6 (330N Poly) is supposed to look like?
The one's I have are 100V, is that ok? They look a bit out of place to me.
I just wanted to check before soldering them in.

Hello

Yes, that looks about right.
100v is plenty, only takes about 5v, but doesnt matter.

For best results should be polyester or polystyrene, as it is used
to hold the voltage [like a sample and hold] over stages
that have no gate signal.

got my package, thank you ryk !

Question:
there was the speak back then that 2 Sequenzers could be chained.
would this need any changes on the frontpanel ?
additional Jacks ?
or does it need to be chained internally while building.
i definitly like to have a 16stepp unit, preferably patchable and not hardwired

Hello

Sorry the switches are now sold out . . .

Funky40 -
I haven't tried it, and it is probably a bit tricky.

To chain two together might work by feeding "unit A" last
step LED signal via Diodes to the the ST/STP input of "unit A" & "unit B"
and feeding "unit B" last
step LED signal via Diodes to the the ST/STP input of "unit A" & "unit B"
This would not be an elegant solution, as you would have to make the last step Stage only one clock pulse long, and it would not really work well in the
new FXD mode.

But worth a try.

Otherwise a better way would be to have the units hard wired, and use
a 1-16 count from one PIC chip. [bit of software update and BCD decoder chip needed . . .]

Hello,

I have just finished one of these sequencers, but seem to be have a couple of problems.

The sequencer works, all modes seem to work too (ping pong, random, stage CV etc.) but it does not output CV, when I connect it to a VCO the VCO just drops a couple of semitones. Also there is no Gate output, and the Run/Stop button does not work either (all other switches work). IE it won't start under its own clock.

I couldn't find R/S on the PCB, so I connected the Run/Stop button to S/S - maybe this is the problem?

I have taken some measurements, and the sequencer is definitely sending CV back to the board, I have followed its path as far as Q15, but I got a bit lost there to be honest - the measurements at Q15 are:

S = (whatever the sequencer is sending from CV pots)V
G = 13.8V
D = 0V

If these have any importance. Looking at the board the Drain of Q15 is leading to the portamento pot, which is not receiving any V's either.

I'm sure its just something silly I've missed but I've double checked everything, and I'm not sure where to turn without the schematic...

Any thoughts would be most appreciated!

Charlie

Well, I spent a bit more time on it last night, and replaced a few bits n bobs, and now it is working really well, a great sequencer, thanks Ryk!

BUT.. the internal clock still does not work, I cannot get it to start - is S/S the correct place to connect this switch on the board? (As I said I can't see R/S)

I don't see myself using the internal clock much (if at all) but it would be good to get it running...

Charlie
