From www.clavia.se

Quote:
Clavia reveals the future at Musikmesse! At this years Musikmesse show in Frankfurt, opening Wednesday the 28 of March, Clavia will show a glimpse of what the future holds for the next generation of lead synthesizers. This is an unique and once in a life time opportunity to hear the classical virtual analog synthesizer taken to the next level. Book your flight tickets now!

The trouble was naming the synth and there was some resistence to call it a 'Lead'... Maybe they did after all...

Anyway, I think it won't be in production, because it is 'an unique and once in a life time opportunity'... Confused

From that picture, my guess too.

BTW, yesterday, I heard from someone who is in a position to know, that Moog sees more Theremins than any other product.

AFAIK it's all about the architecture of the synth.

The Leads have a particular architecture: 3 LFO's using one destination each, two Oscillators, a Filter/Envelope combination and a VCA/Envelope combination and an Unison at the end.

The synth of the Stage is concidering the archtecture much more simple: just one Oscillator, a simple Envelope to control timbre (FM) + Filter and a simple Envelope to control the VCA.

I think the N1 (new one) will be more towards the later then the first.
Maybe an Oscillator more (for sure, otherwise sync has no use)...

That's not what I'm saying...
I don't know either, but if it is the fist option, it will be a Lead; the second one, it will be another synth.

Anyway, who needed the Moog Fatty? A mono synth, now-a-days...

Nord Wave...

http://www.gearjunkies.com/news_info.php?news_id=1875

Based on a legacy of VA synths for almost 15 years, CLavia takes the next generation of lead synths to the next level. Introducing the Nord Wave, you now have all the sounds you want in a classical synthesizer setup.

The name says it all really. By introdducing the oscillator to wave-forms not just single wavetablr style waveforms, but complete user defined, keyzone and multi layered sampled wavefowrms, while keeping the full VA circuitry intact, Clavia has onze again opened a new dimention and brought new live to the world of synthesizers

Use any audio snip you like. If it can be saves as a standard wav file, it can be used as a sound source for toye synthesizer. You now have the full expressiveness of the classic analog synthesizer combined with sample technology availible at your fingertips.

Dont know if that piccy is it tho...

Can they bring this to the Nord G2 as a new feature that's part of an update? That would be very cool!

Really??? I can't imagine why they would cost so much more. Maybe they need to find a way to integrate them at a lower cost (Behringer seems to have found a way to have endless knobs with LED rings at a very low price).

They add so much to the functionality, access and intuitiveness that it is a shame they are leaving them behind.
